And while I'm at it, Cahair O'Kane picked his best 15 from the past 25 years. He didn't think Glass was in our top 15 in this period. That in itself just lost him serious credibility, just can't take him seriously now. Particularly when you see the players he had on before him, a player who simply was the catalyst for Derry winning back to back Ulsters.
cccc is a true supporter lol

Rawhide has kept the receipts it appears 😄

The Derry Gaels podcast said McMonagle was not involved.
I may be wrong on this but the team selected doesn't appear to have a lot of height.

A lot of 6 footers are playing Sigerson or getting a rest unfortunately. Noticed Eoin McEvoy didn't play last night nor named on here

Is Donnacha Gilmore still out injured? I thought he was starting to come on well when get got hurt.
Interesting enough selections positionally, mcgrogan at FB is not one I'd have thought of but I'd say he can do a job there.
Great to see McKinless back - he should be really protected though as much as possible.
Scullion is a great addition and should resolve a lot of last years issues.
A good mix of experience and youth on that panel and I'd imagine Meenagh will run the bench.

Positions mean nothing now. There is no such thing as a full back...as in a full back 30 years ago was at edge of square all the game. Times have changed.

So if P McG named at 3 what does that really mean?

He'll be up and down pitch with 3 back.

Gilmore and McMonagle both opted out of the squad this year as far as I know.
Pity as both of them have plenty of potential.

Jack Doherty is great to see and Sean Kearney on the bench.

And the best of all Mc Kinless at 6. Hard work to get back to there. Hopefully he has a good year.

How is it? Shea a good player with a couple of Ulster medals, Matthew had had ongoing injury problems that have cleare, so hopefully get a injury free run. In saying that I would have preferred Jack at chf

There is absolutley no basis for the selection of the Downeys. Shea was lucky to be involved when he was first in the panel. He didn't stand out at all. What have either done since. A kick in the teeth to those dropped or others who are actually playing in Derry who were not called in.

You might be better sitting this one out with your track record on who is and isn't good enough to play for Derry. As evidence I present this classic. I rest my case.

Bit of a joke McKinless back. A man who has shown next to no commitment when he's been in squads the last few times he's be invloved. Disruptive influence - Won't be long before he falls out with Gallagher.

Must be a busy man. We'll see over the next few weeks if they offer anything.

Watching on Ulster GAA TV stream but it's very very laggy. Anyone else experiencing issues?

You'd worry for Clucky. It didn't look overly great for him. Hopefully he is ok and him going off was just precautionary.

Funny game, Derry played well in spells and won very handy in the end. Ethan and Paudi our two best players I would say with CD and Paul Cass putting in good shifts. Keeping Antrim scorless in 2nd half is good going.

Mc Kinless steps out of the defensive system at exactly the right time to put pressure on.

JD, Conor Mc Ateer, Sean Young and Sean Kearney all done well at times. Sean Young probably looked a bit nervous but definitely had a good role and was well involved.

The argument for Matthew Downey getting his place is fast running out of legs, hes not at that level. He needs to go get a good club season behind him and then somebody can judge him right. Shea Downey probably will be a good squad player but he wont be at 5 come summer football.Mark Doherty struggled a but to I thought. His height doesn't help but still couldn't say he's at that level.
