Its unfortunate that our hurlers had to play the two strongest teams in their first two games of the championship. Playing and competing in division 1 has shown Laois and Carlow are slightly above the rest.

Cant imagine the mood in camp being great with two bad losses, which is disappointing for the team after a fantastic league campaign.

Westmeath and Down are on 0 points and regulation to the Cristy Ring is a very real possibility. Both teams will be targeting this match to secure their spot for next year. A lot of people have commented on Westmeath's fall but they were still a division 1 team and I expect it to be a tough match.

Does anyone know when the GAA release the actual dates of the games? For now we know the weekend but the 2nd and 3rd games could be Saturday or Sunday. When do they tell us the day of the game and time? Thanks

Prob next week knowing them. I'd think the Louth fame in Newry will be a sat evening. And tge Monaghan fame most likely in Armagh a sat evening game also unless they play them all on thr final day at same time?

Anybody know if any more players been called into the panel for the group games? Thought maybe they would be tempted to bring Sheelan Johnson back after coming home from Oz.

No confirmation for Louths home venue v Monaghan.
It wouldn't be the best idea for Down GAA to allow Newry as an option. Considering they will be playing Louth in Newry the following week. Every small advantage will be needed for Down.

Another loss for Mayobridge tonight really look in trouble this year, just can't get going at all.

Hurlers finally got up and running with a win over Kerry today.

Let's hope it's not too little, too late.

Down beating Kildare in the final round, and Westmeath beating Kerry, would ensure Down avoid relegation, I think.

Sheedy

Great win for the hurlers, gives a chance of avoiding relegation from Joe mcdonagh cup.

Minor footballers however beat by Leitrim on penalties in their first game in the tier 2 competition, a terrible result for this group of players and management

downtothecore

Poor result for our minors. A lot of work needing done to get us competitive again at this level. The seniors having a good run will help....

Down v louth next week in newry next week will ve a big game. Louth are the mighty lenister champions at are coming to newry on a high...but I think laverys boys will really relish a good go at louth. It should be a big crowd..

Louth play Monaghan next week, we play them the following week in Newry.

Sheedy

Great win for Down in Ennis, Danny magill, Pat havern and Daniel Guinness got same great scores. On to Louth now in a couple of weeks, should be a big crowd for that one

Good performance yesterday. Clare were really bad though.
Very poor crowd in Ennis 1,500 people over half were from Down.
Distance, prices and no faith in the home team.
What would be a big crowd for the Louth game?
Last time Newry had a big crowd for Down was v Mayo in a qualifier a few years back.
Louth might bring a decent following. Down don't get big numbers, would be good if that changes for the next 2 games, 1 in Newry and the other Armagh.

Saying the same for me now, was working last night. Not my video in fairness and probably not strictly meant to be showing it.
