Quote from: God14 on June 15, 2026, 12:38:48 PMMattie needs someone coming off the shoulder – he was quite isolated at times yesterday. Once there isn't an opportunity to shoot or quick lay off, he has no option but to solo and drift sideways

All seemed a bit crowded around the arc with Mattie in alone in front of goals. Jordan and McElholm a bit far from Mattie with Jordan hanging around the arc mainly.

Cassidy cut them open at will thanfully and McCurry used his football brain to work openings and his shooting was on it as normal.

Good win yesterday but I wouldn't be getting too carried away. If you remember the impact we got off the bench in 2021 I can't see anything close to that happening this year. Only chance of it would be getting Canavan fit and you might have two good forward options to bring on (McElholm, Jordan, McCurry, Canavan) - aside from that it's limited enough

Hopefully this quarter final draw can fall kindly for us and get a few more bodies back - I just don't think we have the bench or 2 point ability to go the whole way

Having said that, it's nice to even be talking about it after that league campaign

I like the look of Bogue and hopefully gets a run next year in the league along with Conor ONeill. The x2 Canavans, Oguz, Ben McDonnell are all a miss of the bench for impact

Dont think Bogue is offering anything that we dont already have - what happened Burns? injured or just took off again?

That was a strange one. Burns came on as the blood sub for McGeary and then 10 minutes later Michael Rafferty came on for Burns. Didn't look like an injury to Burns anyway. He looked a bit surprised to be taken off.

Commentators seemed to indicate he was brought on as a temporary blood sub so I guess after a period of time they had to make a permanent change. Not sure if they could make a blood sub as a permanent change or not

so despite all the ups and downs, Tyrone find themselves in the last8, good draw and there's a semifinal place very much in the offering
Are Tyrone capable of much more, hard to see but you never know

I have to say I didn't think it possible to get beyond the last 8 with the players we have/have not at our disposal but its a season where no-team is setting a trail blaze

Yeah its a funny season. One of the favourites will be gone by Saturday evening and as you say noone is setting the championship on fire at the minute.

Or it could be a case of an exciting season overall with good football, shocks aplenty,  not knowing who could win it and by the end of July Kerry are All Ireland champions again. . .

Geezer please do us a solid. Tyrone V Armagh quarter final would be superb, esp with that extra bit of rest

They can meet Armagh. Only previous meetings in the All Ireland series and provincial finals can't be repeated. So if for example Monaghan, Mayo, Donegal and Kerry win at the weekend we could only get Monaghan, Donegal or Kerry.

Louth played Dublin the All Ireland series having played them in an earlier round in the Leinster Championship.

DaleCooper

I didnt know either way sort of assumed only Mayo could be a clash as its logical.

While its easy to say Mayo should have scored a goal late on, it was excellent positioning by young Rafferty that helped ensure they took the point, huge moment
