The UK Greens going in hard on the Zionists, rightfully equating them with racists.

There's going to be some dirt digging on Zack Polanski and the "Corbanistas" who've taken over the Greens allegedly.

You don't find it all a bit simplistic and reductive?

I could think of numerous other terms to describe them.

I expect Netanyahu to win this election but should be close.

The permanent war footing is threatening to internally destabilise Israel.

It's probably meaningless in the bigger scheme of things, keeps the Israeli genocide in the news for another cycle, that's about it.

The Hasbara crew are digging deep into the Greens since.

They've opened themselves up to all sorts of scrutiny. Define Zionism, for example. It means different things to different people. There are different strands etc. Define Irish republicanism, define physical force Irish republicanism etc.

The easy question to ask them will be why do they particularly and specifically care about Israel and not other ethno-nationalist conflicts. Why don't they have a policy on Christ knows how many African conflicts etc. What could possibly be unique or significant about Israel that they felt the need to do this?

The other bit is they've actually gone beyond the mainstream Palestinian position. They're actively rejecting a two state solution and calling for a singular Palestinian state "by any means necessary".

They have left themselves open to justified criticism, and when the anti-Semitism card is played (perhaps with some justification given the fact they don't care about anything else, i.e. holding Israel to a different standard than other states), no doubt they will respond with the "they're playing the anti-Semitism card" card.

I suppose the reason for that is that the US, UK and various European states are supporting and enabling this particular genocide and we're supposed to be "civilised".

Ok, so in that case why is the motion about Zionism rather than about combating/condemning the enablement of genocide by the west?

Regardless of the rights or wrongs of any of it, it is, at best, unbelievably f**king naive from a political perspective.

Believe it or not "the Jewish people have a right to a homeland in historical Palestine" isn't that controversial an opinion in global Jewry. There are many left wing Jews in the UK who would criticise the Israeli state in general and certainly the genocide who this policy now targets.

DaleCooper

"Holding Israel to a different standard" is classic Israeli propaganda line.

Israel has wiped out over half a million people in Gaza, most of them civilians.

Israel IS held to a "different standard" alright.

The question is the why and the how...

I can't speak for the Greens but many would argue that Zionism, the Iron wall approach taken by Netanyahu is the ideology behind this genocide.

Where would you even start with this crock of shit?

DaleCooper

3 years on. A lot of people believe Netanyahu "let it happen".

A good corrective here for anyone that believes this.

Ralph Nader now estimating 500,000 are dead. The putrefecation of corpses has supposedly entered groundwater of Haifa.

I'd be very surprised if Israel didn't know all about it. Doesn't make sense

Trying to maintain Hamas are idiots etc and well "it was us all along dont you know we fund and control Hamas?"
