Deserved. Out of the 120 odd minutes played they were the better team for 90 minutes

Was at it. Abbey totally dominant everywhere bar the scoreboard, Dungannon were really poor but never looked out of it. Abbey overdo the possession game at times but they'll be hard stopped for the Hogan now.
DOR getting the gongs today but a lot of solid performers in that Abbey team.

McEntee lower sixth looks as though will be a big player for Cross for a long time. McKernan from Saval big unit and can kick a score. Abbey defence well improved and really got to grips with Dungannon inside line who looked extremely dangerous in first half last week.

You Would have to ask questions of the Academy management.... Bar a 20min spell the last day where the players maybe playing off the cuff they looked to have no ideas! Biggest turn around in colleges history! Wouldn't have happened in Pete Herron or MOFs day!

Who is the GAA officer in the school assuming he's an ex inter county star like Abbey? Maybe he can eventually turn around this baron spell
For academy!

Mcgeary had no help inside. Abbey dominating midfield! Mulgrew needed a helping hand around the middle like a Donaghy type in Tyrone minors but was left fighting on his own.

Abbey were impressive. Some classy players too.

Someone told me this is the first time abbey won this fixture through the school years? Is that correct?

Agree,100%,but the Dungannon management have to look at themselves at the way they approached that 2nd half last Sunday.

Was at both games and although tonights game never reached the heights of Sunday it was a thoroughly deserved win for the Abbey, delighted to see them win, brings back great memories of 87',if you know you know!!

Mulgrew one of Dungannon's biggest disappointments on the night - cleaned out in midfield. Lot of big names on that Dungannon team and you can't say any of them showed up except McGeary.

Abbey won at their leisure. What a disaster for the academy ..4 points flattered them in defeat

You can't win football games without a midfield

Most of that team gone next year

He Seemed to shy away from taking the ball into contact and not aggressive enough around the middle

You would wnder what happened Abbey in 1st half last sunday. Maybe nerves got to them. Thankfully they got over that in 2nd half and deservedly won the replay.

Armagh18

Jesus lads some harsh enough comments on 16/17/18 year olds there.

Young O'Rourkes interview was fantastic, hope he can be a big player for Armagh in years to come.

marty34

Yeah, only young lads. Let them be. Plenty more football to be played in their careers.

Went to the game myself. Cold night that didnt hit the highs of Sunday but still thoroughly enjoyable. Some great football on show. Dungannon played with the handbrake on IMO. Plenty of opportunity to kick the ball into their ff line and they didnt really want to do it. They'd a spell on Sunday when shots from all angles went over the bar. A few bad wides in the first half last night seemed to knock the confidence.

Abbey were overall dominate in every section though. Theyve some really classy footballers. DOR is involved in every play, McEntee with some great fielding when required and breaking tackles, McKernan as a big forward who can hit scores. Over the 2 games I was so impressed with young Michael O'Neill. He dictates so much. A McHugh type player. Brilliant.

You weren't disappointed with some of the Acadamy performances? Didn't think any of them could have played better?

brokencrossbar1

Definitely some harsh comments on the performance of kids.

The Abbey were the stronger team and I think the first half of the drawn game was an aberration as opposed to the level that could have been between the teams. DOR said it after the game that last week they played the occasion as opposed to playing their game. Once they settled into things last week they pulled away comfortably and were the better team by a distance.

Mad watching DOR and young Keelan striding around the field like their da's at that age. Frightening when you see a generational follow through like that. From an Armagh perspective there's serious footballers on both teams last night who can push through so the future is bright
