Let's hope that Mayo fans have moved on from the previous  all Ireland hopes...ie, beating  Galway!! That would be the first step to winning the All Ireland final. ;) Anyway  I could see them in the last 8 at least, winning Connacht should be attainable enough, Ross are not as good, galway are team building and Sligo seem to have gone back a wee bit, Leitrim are decimated by emigration. Then it's  the knockouts where they can beat anyone on their day! Kerry are the only team that are  a big mental block to them and they will have to beat them sometime if they want to progress!! It would be nice to see Mayo win one sometime just to get that monkey off the back!  The rest of us in Connacht are sick of laughing at all  the glorious failures! Time to deliver for your long- suffering fans!

Sure as long as you have the Super Smash Bros. in the center, who could dare oppose ye?

While at last nights FBD final I was wondering.......
If there is to be a dominant team (say winning 3 or 4 AIs) I feel it could be ourselves.

Ross, if you ask me nicely I will train you in telepathy.

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Who would have thought 10 years ago that Tyrone would be the team of the past decade. Given our depth of talent and now a decent management setup it's not far fetched to think we will win 3 or 4 AIs over the next 7 or 8 years.

Good man mick, only a mayo man can be this optimistic.  You're right about the talent though :)

Two years ago Mayo had All Ireland winning manager and the panel they had then wasn't a lot different. Tyrone became good at senior level because they won many under aged All Ireland titles while Mayo won just one.

You have a gimlet eye for cutting through the (Kerry) hype Mick, your Mayo prediction could be so true!  ;)

Kerry were average enough at U21 in the 90s and yet were the second best team of the past decade. We have had consistenly strong under age teams over the past 7 or 8 years.
We might have had an AI winning manager but he was in the job for the wrong reasons. Now we have a manager solely focused on winning the AI. I am confident he will deliver.
