I'd imagine not works were ongoing last time I was at the pitch so hard to know what condition it would be in , we have good alternative venues.

Cargin good venue for Dunloy and Brides same as last time, Could see corrigan for Cargin game maybe ?

Seein that Cahair O'Kane has an article up for Dunloy game with caption:

"The game in front of our eyes was shapeless to the point of resembling u14 football at times."

Typical Derry snobbery from Cahair who must be forgetting that he plays his club football in Antrim. I have seen many a Derry championship game over the last few seasons that you could also describe in a similar way.

Probably the fact the game was over as a contest after about 10 minutes probably played into this.

He plays for Drum and it was clear what he meant - it was like a friendly at times

What a weekend of sport. Attended Corrigan there yesterday and understand Casements frustrations. The officiating did not do them any favours what so ever, but id like to ask BS... What do u expect? Though at the end of the day, they only have themselves to blame. Shocking game management from both the players and their management. There was a stage, the game was crying out for someone to settle it down and Casements line made double sub subs from what i can remember. I can only assume the men they have injured must have had serious injuries, as their was better quality on the bench than there was on the field.

Though i have to say, i am extremely pleased that we have a semi finalist which opted to stay in house for management. Its becoming a thing of the past, though the passion and pride that Rossa brought to that game, i felt could have only been driven from clubmen who it meant something to. Rossa wernt given a chance going into that game, so a huge congratulations to all involved with them.

Im sure mcgleenan and co's expenses would be very hard to justify for another year following that embarrassing result. Casements must be at a crossroads what they do next.

Jesus lads punditry/reporting is based off both facts and also opinion. Why should it matter where hes from or even if he has played the game before. Hes calling it as he sees and is right on this occasion

List of things you can buy for 40k:

- Brand new Tesla Model 3
- Seamus Coleman
- A manager that will take you to an Antrim championship quarter final

I think this is the worst standard of championship I have seen in Antrim for as long as I can remember. A decent run and bit of momentum by any of the top 4/5 clubs would get you close to the final in Antrim these days. Very little quality on any team that I have seen so far.

We made a complete balls of the LD game. Cruising with 10mins left and somehow get beat. Adam getting injured right before the PG1 game was a disaster too. But we are still a good bit behind the level we were at a few years ago. Hopefully another winter will help a few of the young lads and we have a decent age profile.

With Aghagallon having met Sarsfields, Lamh Dhearg and Portglenone it isnt hard to see how you came to this conclusion. You havent met either of the two clear favourites Dunloy or Cargin or even St Brigids. Il agree to a certain extent that the championship is a worse standard but letting 16 teams enter it when 8 max are worthy of a place is the main issue but that's been covered on here numerous times.
Joe Cassidy loved that PG1 result yesterday, its taken the heat completely off what he has done at Creggan and that is stick them firmly in reverse gear!

I'd sit this one out Slemish😂

I mean how much have you boys paid Baker to only get promoted via your chairman's committee and then win one game in two years at senior championship level against a poor St Paul's?

And to add further context only one of the teams to come out of your groups over the last two years have navigated the quarter finals.

8 team Senior Championship and 8 team Div 1 A would do rightly.

Might give our Intermediate and Junior winners a chance in Ulster as well.

And decouple leagues and championships.

Intermediate and league winners go up and bottom place in leagues go down. Championship relegation is bottom placed in two groups of 4 playing off for championship relegation.

And runs down through leagues and championships.

Leagues represent what teams have available at that stage so shouldn't need to be aligned to championship.

Was at the match on friday night. Couldn't believe that Creggan wouldn't take on the 2 point option. Went for one and got it ok but then keep dithering on the arc instead of letting the shot off. In first half with wind Cargin slung over 4 2 pointers i think it was. Their keeper hit couple of nice ones into a fair breeze. One of their lads put hands on the ref or linesman can't remember but don't think anything come of it. Overall Creggan very poor, Cargin decent performance and never really were threatened.

Bannsides reaction is understandable and human, rightly or wrongly. I'm sure we've all been there to some degree.

But if you can't win a game of football which you were that heavily favoured for in over EIGHTY minutes of play between normal and extra time, then you've absolutely no one to blame but yourselves.

Ah yes we've all been there in terms of feeling we've been robbed of a result, but there is no excuse for the carry on I seen from that man after the final whistle. We are only lucky that the Rossa crowd were too distracted by the celebrations of their victory that no one retalliated or we could have seen some nasty scenes. That is the sort of behaviour which leads to the scenes we saw in Loughiel last week. I am all for passion, but Bannside crossed the line yesterday.

Take the teams you mentioned. Dunloy, Cargin and St. Brigids. In my opinion they wouldn't get near the Cargin teams from the recent past and obviously no where near the St. Galls teams. They're the best of a bad bunch. Hardly a player in Division 1 that you could get excited about. And yes, 16 teams is stupid. That's an easy fix.
