Refereeing was shambolic at Cargin too. The city ref doing all he could to keep LD in it and still they were beaten easily.

Square-ball first goal, push in the back for another goal and overturning a penalty decision he made from 15 yards away for something from the umpire called from 15 yards away.

Some upset by Rossa fair play to them.

Dunloy and Brides will be a tasty encounter where I imagine they'll meet Cargin in final.

They looked a different animal compared to Creggan and seemed to be a real hunger.

St Endas pulled away from Ahoghill in the intermediate to set up the semi finals as Aldergrove v Ahoghill and St Endas Gort na Mona
Go back and have another look without focusing on those trying to con the officials by calling for a breach.

Aye your right , watched it back there I think it was more so the shouting. But Jesus a bad passage of play , was like a hot potato

There are very few in the whole of the county.  I would struggle to name you two or three and I attend a lot of football.

While BS and Portglenone might be sore and posting in full pain we can't brush aside the fact that the standard of Gaelic football refereeing in Antrim is abysmal.

Silver Eel

Oh no - it'll be a Rossa Biddies final if the SA mafia are involved  ;)

Would ye whist

While we all ignore it and fail to call it out refereeing in Antrim is now in the hands of a small concentrate of SA referees who are more interested in keeping the games to themselves and secondly how much mileage they can screw out of it.

BS, take a day and log off, while you may feel you have a point you are not making it in the best way and making yourself look awful into the bargain

Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on September 21, 2026, 09:34:59 AMTo be its a Cargin Dunloy final. The rest are well back. St Brigids included, they had a poor showing v St Johns I thought

Agree , Johnnies didn't actually preform that well either I thought and were unfortunate with the goal being ruled out and the free at the end.

Dunloy will punish St Brides unless they can find another gear but need to be careful on the receiving end. LD got their goals a tad too easily I think.

Agree also, Dunloy were porus. But they now have time on the football training pitch they have the hurling break. LD probably left 2 or 3 goals behind also

Around the glens

Take nothing from that LD game yesterday, it was too easy in spells for Dunloy and complacency set in. It happens. Felt like they were never out of 3rd gear, LD brought it back to 6, Dunloy went and hit 1-3 without reply.

Deerstalker

Paddy is a brutal referee in fairness

Hectic

Dunloy are a team that can make creating chances and scoring look easy and often do it at pace.

Team to beat them will have to find a way to blunt that.

I'm sticking with Cargin though.

Silver Eel

Any idea on semi final venues - will it be Dunsilly?

I'd imagine not works were ongoing last time I was at the pitch so hard to know what condition it would be in , we have good alternative venues.

Cargin good venue for Dunloy and Brides same as last time, Could see corrigan for Cargin game maybe ?

Seein that Cahair O'Kane has an article up for Dunloy game with caption:

"The game in front of our eyes was shapeless to the point of resembling u14 football at times."

Typical Derry snobbery from Cahair who must be forgetting that he plays his club football in Antrim. I have seen many a Derry championship game over the last few seasons that you could also describe in a similar way.

Probably the fact the game was over as a contest after about 10 minutes probably played into this.

He plays for Drum and it was clear what he meant - it was like a friendly at times

Níl a fhios agam

What a weekend of sport. Attended Corrigan there yesterday and understand Casements frustrations. The officiating did not do them any favours what so ever, but id like to ask BS... What do u expect? Though at the end of the day, they only have themselves to blame. Shocking game management from both the players and their management. There was a stage, the game was crying out for someone to settle it down and Casements line made double sub subs from what i can remember. I can only assume the men they have injured must have had serious injuries, as their was better quality on the bench than there was on the field.

Though i have to say, i am extremely pleased that we have a semi finalist which opted to stay in house for management. Its becoming a thing of the past, though the passion and pride that Rossa brought to that game, i felt could have only been driven from clubmen who it meant something to. Rossa wernt given a chance going into that game, so a huge congratulations to all involved with them.

Im sure mcgleenan and co's expenses would be very hard to justify for another year following that embarrassing result. Casements must be at a crossroads what they do next.
