The failure to play the league semi has not went down well with all parties in BT9.

The league play offs will rightly be axed next season, but the decision to disrespect the competition (while 3 other teams were prepared to play) and go on a training weekend instead looks like a pivotal moment. Heaping pressure on yourself, need to back it up on the pitch otherwise you look very very foolish when you are dumped out. Hence their manager looking very very foolish leaving the pitch yesterday  ;D

It's just a pity they were only beat by 1pt. Bigger shower of gurns and ganches you'll never meet.

Decent game and Portglenone never really in trouble, Galls might feel a few regrets as they had the chances to nick it. Both teams reliant on lads with a lot of
Miles on the clock.

One observation, over the weekend qtr finals  is the lack of consistency between what is being blown by referees (and what isn't) tough on players and picking the ball clean if the deck appears to have been given a free pass in any crowd of players.

Whatever sweet nothings that were whispered into an ear after half time on the video done the trick. Shocking streak of decisions followed.

We really need to have a conversation about splitting the county in two and having a Country Championship and a City Championship.

City clubs seem a long way behind the country clubs at the moment. What's happened? Better facilities for the country clubs vs the city clubs? Too many other sports/distractions in the city and gaa not a priority?

paddyjohn

Country clubs apart from 1 have played catch for the last 25/30 years.

Yes it should be restricted to clubs who have won a SFC in last 15 years.

Duine Inteacht Eile

That's a narrow field. Extend it to 60 years and you'd have 2 great championships.

Dunsilly for both semis? 1 on the Saturday and 1 on the Sunday you'd presume.

Who did St Brigids get in the semi final?
