I was discussing this topic with a fellow from another county - what did you make of Donegal this year? Our views were polar opposites.

What is your overriding memory of Donegal in 2011? Romantic or dastardly? Or nothing really atall?
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Still a lovely part of the world for a holiday, no matter what year it is. I thing their football team won a cup too

So did Cromwell, but I don't have to like him.

Agreed For 18 years they played free flowing football & didn't even win a Ulster title.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Didn't make it home this year, but I'm sure it was as stunningly beautiful and peaceful as ever.  :)

As for Big Jim, fair fucks for an excellent first season and f**k the bregrudgers! First man other than McEniff to bring an Ulster title home with him. Second only to McIver bring a league title to the county. Of course we'd all like to see him expand it a bit next year, but I'd rather more of the same and another Ulster title and late August games than what was served up over the previous five years!

Donegal won two of the 3  serious competitions they entered.
THey'd have taken that if you asked them in January.
Could have made the AIF if only they had a bit of attack mindedness about them.

Painful to watch .... but did they handpass as much against Dublin as Kerry did?
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Did you see those points the brogans kicked? I'll put the vids up in case you've forgotten.
Re-read the post. He was giving out about Kerry, not Dublin.

Fixed that for you.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

They won an Ulster title. Anything else was a bonus. Considering recent years, 2011 can only be deemed a success.

I know plenty of counties who would happily settle for a similar run in 2012.

All I will say is WHAT A YEAR :D

The lads done us so proud this year... only downfall was the negative reaction to our success but nobody up here really cares what everyone else thinks  :-\ A good 2012 is in store I hope

ck

So as a Donegal man what would "a good 2012" entail?
