Millions lost before the buildings came down in various wars/proxy's, acted as a catalyst for the 'war on terror' which in turn 'allowed' the US to have carte blanche with world politics/war and enforcing things openly rather than the behind the scenes they'd been doing for years.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Look-Up!

A shocking time that changed the world and terrible for those families who lost loved ones.

Unfortunately countless families suffered shattering losses before and since that doesn't really register in the grand scheme of things. Cities levelled burying innocents in far off places or indeed Iranian or Libyan passenger jets full of people getting shot down don't count or need to be mentioned when talking about international terrorism.

There is and should be no hierarchy of victims and tragedy in this world.

The level of intended terror however that was unleashed on the western world in 9/11, the london attacks etc... was unparalleled. Terror, not just destruction. It was designed for maximum chaos, pain, confusion - sheer terror.

Israel aside, I do not think that was ever the MO of the US or UK in their responses and the execution of the "war on terror".

Well you could start with the lads that flew the planes into the towers.

I think some people feel that pain and suffering in some far away place in Africa is less to that when it was brought upon places like Madrid/Paris/London/New York and while that is a small small fraction of the carnage that goes on everywhere else, it was still horrific and terror

As said already and I've said it many times, there is zero hierarchy of victims and suffering, excusing/blaming is daft

Look-Up!

There absolutely is a hierarchy of victims. Don't know how anyone could argue there isn't.

Mans inhumanity to man makes countless thousands millions mourn.

My ask was meant to be who was responsible for the 9-11 attack?

It wasn't some yahoo stuck in a cave in Afghanistan, I think we all accept that.

Puckoon

I get what you were probing at. You are much smarter than me, I couldn't deal in that absolute.

Nah, I don't accept that.

Netanyahu, Trump etc  vs us plebs.  Don't lump those b******s in with  the rest of us. None of  us  are responsible for mass murder and genocide.

Psychopathic b*****s  inhumanity to  the rest of us , more like

Puckoon

You don't accept that since the advent of time - as a species, we have demonstrated obscene cruelty to one another?

I am not in anyway saying Austin Powers is the equivalent of Netanyahu. Things are certainly escalating at a rapid clip.

Merely quoting the words of the Paycock. A statement I find to the bedrock of conflict and cruelty since time began.

Unparalleled only in the West, or globally?

If the latter, I think that's incredibly naive.

QuoteMore than 145,000 People Are Sick, and Nearly 10,000 Have Died from 9/11-Related Illnesses

Thousands of people who worked, lived, or went to school near Ground Zero are struggling with lingering, debilitating illness

Cancer is the primary illness affecting first responders and survivors, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's World Trade Center Health Program.

More than 57,000 are being treated for cancer; the cases are nearly evenly split between 28,131 responders and 28,913 survivors. The primary cancer is non-melanoma skin cancer, followed by prostate cancer and breast cancer.

More than 42,000 have chronic rhinosinusitis, which is long-term inflammation of the nasal passages that theNational Library of Medicine
says is linked to "dust, gases, and toxicants."

Nearly 40,000 are being treated for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), while 23,000 are being treated for asthma and about 18,000 struggle withpost-traumatic stress disorder.

The data only covers people currently being treated; since the September 11 attacks coated New York City — and its people — in dust and fumes, nearly 6,000 first responders and residents have died of cancer, and nearly 10,000 have died of other illnesses linked to the attacks, per the New York Post,
citing data from the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund.

The data comes on the heels of recently released documents about the air quality in New York City in the weeks — and months —  following the attacks. Asbestos, a known carcinogen, was still being detected a half mile from the site ten months after the attacks, per The New York Times.
