That legal position was based on the police saying there be no trouble. How they reach that conclusion, they cant even take down flags in multiple areas.

That's the main issue and SF should be going hard on that. From my reading PSNI have said that they could police the parade and get it down the road. That was either gross negligence by whoever came to that decision or something more sinister. But it should never be allowed to happen again at this level given the potential damage a wrong decision can cause.

Any word on how the family fun day is going?  I'm visualising the Fr Ted funfair.

Any notion what's in the document?

AI photo was a belter. TUV's Ron has got some grief over that.

They're moved on from blue bin to someon'e toilet door (hinges still on) so it's looking more like a circus.

Contrast that with the Fleadh type atmosphere on the GR. Some difference.

Yup that is critical. Who precisely in the PSNI decided it was not contentious? Like even English folk with very little knowledge would be able to tell you.

What was their rationale and evidence ?

Would they not have waited to see what happens at court on Friday?

Did I see a clip of B McKenna looking very happy saying they would accept the SOS offer if the orange order does? What would it be. They say they were entitled to walk down but are not going to?

The leave judgement sets out that the PSNI had no specific evidence disorder would occur should the parade be granted. That is not the same thing as saying no disorder would occur.

PSNI seemingly pointed that out and told PC what they would do should a number of scenarios play out from their being no protest right up to their being a huge protest.

PC seemingly took that into account and concluded that either disorder was unlikely or was manageable should the parade be allowed.

Yeah was thinking that myself but must have got a seriously good offer, which means the other crowd likely won't take it

That might be quite a risk. Overturning decisions of a specialist tribunals is very difficult.

Ok David. You're assessments and analysis has been very good.

One thing that has come out of this all is I'm haven't a clue about the law. Very complicated stuff altogether.  :(

I think it was established earlier it's not but I'm not sure what the consensus ended up being.

The whole thing is no one can really say for certain most things are open to debate.

DUP not accepting it anyway...whatever it is.

As soon as GRR said it was acceptable before the OO had their say it was doomed.
