'Ireland' is the official name of the 26 county state, not 'the South', 'the Republic', 'the Free State' or anything else. It's in the Constitution - Article 4.

Well if your going to bring that up, go have a look at Article 2.

I have. It refers to the Irish Nation - that's not the same as the Irish State.

I'm not arguing that for Nationalists across the island she isn't their President. But constitutionally, she is the president of the 26 counties.
