Mayo Team to face Galway on Sunday in the Allianz Football League

                    1) Robert Hennelly

2) Tom Cunniffe, 3) Alan Feeney, 4) Chris Barrett

5) Richie Feeney, 6) Ger Cafferkay, 7) James Burke

          8) Ronan McGarrity, 9) James Killcullen

10) Aidan Campbell, 11) Alan Dillon, 12) Kevin McLoughlin

13) Aidan O'Shea, 14) Andy Moran, 15) Jason Doherty

Strong team - I'd be pretty confident if we line out like that. Good to see James Burke and Kilcullen get their chance.
Barrett is a good, strong, tight defender, but I just think he might be a bit small for it at this level.
Will be interesting to see how McLoughlin gets on at 12 - we need to find a settled position for him, he definitely has the ability, his build is a bit slight though.
O'Shea gets another chance, he'd want to take it or I can't see him starting the next match. Good chance for Doherty as well, he didn't look great for NUIG in the FBD final but had been putting up big scores in the other rounds

Looks like Moysider is being listened to, Caff at 6, Burke in HBs and McLoughlin in HFs
Kilcullen and Jason Doherty get first league starts ?

West  - 7
North - 5
East   - 3
South - 0
Great to see kilcullen back but is midfield really his best spot? but number 6 seen to be untouchable as
the Cafferkey mystery goes on and on. it looks like if a new position has to be invented to give him a game the mayo management will do it. surely hes running out of chances

When the only one seeing the mystery is yerself guess who is the deluded ?

+1
::) imagine for a second James Killcullen trying to keep with Darren O Sullivan. No where near the pace for CB

Best of luck to mayo against that crowd. Hope aiden o se bags a few goals and gets motoring for once and for all.

no 1 hed have to get the ball 2 he'd have to be able to still run even if he did. Kilcullen is not you usual polite mayo footballer , he brings an extra element in his game that everuone says Mayo lack.  but playing him out of position will do no one any good.

All the locals here must be at the game today? 23mins gone Galway 0-5 Mayo 1-4 Doherty with the goal

What are you on about or even trying to say? MS word has a fairly good spelling and grammar check  ;)

At the game, mediocre so far. Our defence looks shaky against very pacey Galway ff line. Berlin and Bane doing ok too for Galway. Kilcullen is in and out of the game. Upfront looks a little disjointed too. Good performances by Henelley and Doherty so far with others playing in patches

The weegies are doing wonders for our points difference today.

Worst Galway team I've seen in close to 20 years. That's probably 5 or 6 away from Mayo's best 15, they're not even playing well or I think even going full tilt and its 2-12 to 0-7.

Doherty has an eye for goal though and Campbell is a big improvement on the frees.

2-11 to 0-7 in favour of Mayo now. We are a shambles to be honest. And that's against an average enough Mayo team.
Our full back line is now just as big an issue if not more so than midfield.
We had no shape to our game at all since half time especially.
Very depressing viewing for someone who has followed the footballers since I was a toddler.
I know we had bad times in the 80s and early 90s especially but we are at the lowest ebb I can ever remember right now.
Very hard to find any positives at this moment.

Meehan and Joyce will lift that Galway team up a couple of levels in a way that almost no two players in the country could. However the weaknesses are fairly obvious.

Galway would want to get the finger out for the last 10 minutes or else we'll need to go and have a look at Willie Joes records page after the game.

Galway would honestly not survive in Division 2 playing like this.

As I type Galway have finally kicked a couple of decent points and have picked it up a bit. But its hard to know if Mayo are still trying too hard.

Down to 8 points now. Galway have got the last 4.

FT Galway 0-12 Mayo 2-14 as expected a win for Mayo but who have thought it would be that easy without getting out of 2nd gear?

As a neutral is was a pretty dour game over as a contest after 50mins

Surreal kind of game really, Mayo played badly and won by 8 points pulling up.

If Galway hit on Kerry, Cork or Dublin on a good day in the next few weeks they could take an awful pasting.

mannix

Well done mayo, a nice enough score to put up,even if Galway were poor.

Terrible performance  by Galway; this wasnt even a good Mayo performance, yet the scoreline flattered Galway.

Midfield was atrocious and it took them far too long to bring Blake in (Who in fairness did improve things there). They should have also played Bergin deeper. Sice was anonymous, very very poor. Thought Bane tried hard but not to be his day. Dummins was no use, either was Concannon (his replacement).

I dont see full back being an issue as Hanley will end up being there for championship with Blake back at no. 6.

After this performance, I am actually wondering if we will see a Galway season without one victory in league & championship - certainly something I have never seen in my life time.
