Liquidise all your assets. Emmigrate, let the last one out turn off the lights.

They only way the people can hurt the banks is to take their hard earned money out of the banks. Simple as that.

Be a tad counter-productive hurting the banks, given we own them

it is not over yet. all the country needs is a Government that can get cracking on the budget deficit. The tough decisions have to be made anyway and if FF or the opposition don't do it the EU/IMF will. Whatever is decided it must be seen to be fair.

Ideally the pain would include the removal of the FF parasite from the body of the patient.

I don't think we will see a penny back but i'd like to think they won't cost us much more.

the idea being mooted that we hold a general election with each party proposing what way they'd do the job is the best solution.
People will not and should not accept whatever our current govt, who no longer have a mandate are going to propose in terms of a 4 year plan.  They will be gone by May anyway, why the fcuk don't they take just one decision that is in the national interest instead of self or party interest and hold an election immediately?  They talk about Lenno and Biffo's love for their country, this is their chance to prove it.

That ship has sailed. They know they have no mandate and with the budget and by-elections they are done in Government. It's gone past the stage were they can call an election in the National interest. All they can (and will) do is call an election at a time that best suits them between now and the end of the year when a budget must be passed. When Doherty won his court case and the GNs and backbenchers started issueing demands was the last chance to call an election in the National interest. Now it's call an election at a time that best limits the damage to FF.

Olli Rehn spelt it out to the muppet show yesterday. Either they pass the budget or the EU/IMF will. Ireland still has some input into the story but it won't last forever if another set of wrong choices is made.

This crisis is now as much about the failure  of the Irish political model as it is about a collapse in economic orthodoxy. The state and the people are more important than FF.

What a rollercoaster 18 months. First the hierarchy collapses. Then the bank/business  elite  And now the political class.

It looks like SF may have saved the face of Irish politics if only for a while. The 4 year term is now negotiable. Still no explanation of where it came from.

The political class you speak of were in plain sight during Lisbon. Again with the consensus of a 4 year plan of 15bn. It's a f**king disgrace that our political leadership are terrified of international political opinion. They roll over like lap dogs on everything from Shannon Airport to 15bn in cuts. Ireland has firmly took her place at the feet of the Nations.
