Does anyone know how to get stuff saved on Sky+ onto dvd?

paco

I was told this wasn't possible when we installed Sky HD and I wanted to put a few things onto DVD, couldn't understand why and I assumed he was lying. Be interested to hear the responses here.

Connect a DVD recorder to your TV. Go to your planner, select what programmes you want to copy, press the red button. When all is selected, press Enter. Start you DVD recording from the Sky channel then press Select. What this does is play all the programmes and record them onto the DVD. You'll also need to finish your DVD on the DVD recorder so it can be played on other DVD players.

Not sure about the HD box, if it's recordings from HD channels it could be to do with the size of the file but not totally sure on this.

Wife took plug out of the Sky Box and now it wont come on!!

The red light is on but wont start. eventually started and i tried to record something and a error message came up and asked me to hit the select button. It turned off again >:(

What can i do to fix it? (wife has been sent to bed ;))

The boxes are notoriously slow to boot back up properly from a cold restart. Knock it off at the wall for a minute, switch it back on and wait a few minutes before pressing any buttons on remote. Wait patiently then hit the Sky button.

Aye takes a good while for them to reboot again. You probably have it sorted now but you just have to be patient and check it after a good 5 mins or so!

happened last year and i had to phone (took 20 minutes) and he had to re boot the thing and i lost all programmes i'd recorded

Anyone had bother with their recordings?

I went to watch something I had recorded yesterday and it wouldn't play, and stuff I had previously recorded (and watched) was also not playing.  Next thing I know everything I had recorded over the past year suddenly changed its status to failed.  Anyone any ideas?

Can you record programmes from "other channels" ie not on the EPG on Sky+ ? I was always under impression you couldn't but a friend of mine insisted over the weekend that its now possible. A quick google search turned up nothing.

Think I read you might be able to do it if you set up a manual recording from same menu as where you choose to watch the other channels you have added. Haven't tried it myself yet though.
