Don't get me wrong, I'm no more pleased to see Down in the AI Final than Black Billy is. But the point here is that the B Telegraph is owned by a Dubliner and likes to position itself as a liberal cross community paper. I thought there was a lot of venom in this short article, including snide gratuitous attacks on Jerome and Logie, and was wondering how this was allowed into print.

Also the B Telegraph has in my opinion the two best GAA journalists (ie Miceal Mc Geaery and John Campbell) in Ulster by a mile, who I have been reading for over 30 years. I wonder how they feel when they read articles like this in the paper that employs them?

Guys like Liam Mackey and Declan Lynch have made careers for themselves out of self-styled 'journalism' like this. To be honest, I don't think any of their GAA journalist colleagues ever paid the slightest bit of heed to their ramblings.

The brief comment from Billy Weir was a bit silly but his column is fairly clearly intended to be humourous and, even his his jokes are poor, he must be entitled to his point of view. For Tony's information, the other  journalist he has read and admired for 30 years and names as `Miceal Mc Geaery' is actually called Micheal McGeary.
