Puke football.

The standard of free kicks, corners and long range shooting in this World Cup has been a disgrace for highly paid professional footballers.  Some of these matches would shame the Irish League or League of Ireland.

I'm convinced the ball is a factor. There's no way the standard could be so consistently poor in all the matches and among all the players.
The germans had no trouble with the ball.

With typical German efficiency they have been using the World Cup ball since Christmas.

Nice goal.

Where is your man Gilberto who used to be at Arsenal at now?

question about advancing further in the Cup.

If you have all 4 teams in a group with the same points, say 4, because they all tied each other with the same scores of 0-0, who advances?
they used to draw straws - but i get the feeling they use the fifa rankings nowadays.

Higher ranking going forward or reverse?

I think it should penalize the higher seed team for not beating a lower seed team if thats the way its determined.

I would judge the tournament when it has concluded, it has been dire so far but teams are shit scared of losing their first game and putting themselves under huge pressure to win their final two games.

aye, apparently a number of the german squad were used for testing the new ball in the giant adidas testing facility outside cologne and it was amended to suit their particular german style of shooting.

They got one back.  Fair play to them.

now we get 2 mins injury time, the ref must have forgot about the 5/6 substitutions and the nearly 2 minutes the game was stopped around the 65th minute for the injury to the korean lad.
At this rate Kim Jong Il only needs a late brace to win it

Capt Pat

Best game of the tournament, Competitive for most of it and 3 good goals, the Korean goal was the best of the 3.

The lads are questioning whether Maicon meant that shot, just like the English did with the Ronaldinho goal in 2002. Of course he meant it.

longrunsthefox

It took Brazil to bring back the magic. I'm getting used to those vuvulas or watever the hell they're called.

mc_grens

There's a free Vuvuzela app for the iPhone. I'm seriously tempted...

At last we get to see some quality! Entertaining game, think Maicon meant that goal, you could see the way he struck it. Was quite surprised, the Koreans were better than I anticipated, your man up front who promised a goal every game looks a decent prospect, pace and strength but could do with working on his finishing. Robinho was unreal, that pass was excellent and looking forward to Xavi producing about 10 of them tomorrow!
