World Cup hasn't been worth watching so far

Is it the ball or is that just lazy punditry?  I think it's not helping the situation, there does seem to have been an abnormally high amount of overhit crosses and miles high shots, what goals we have seen, 3 have come from goalkeeping errors, not specifically blaming the ball for them, but...
And if it is the ball, what will they do?  nothing?
It's disappointing coming hot on the heals of (imo) the best international tournament ever (Euro 2008) that the fayre has been so shite.

Teams have been ridiculously cautious so far. Nobody wants to lose the first game. Granted many World Cups start slowly but this one hasn't really got going at all yet. It will improve though as teams will have to go for it more after the first round of games.

Interesting story being reported by the Guardian regarding Dutch supporters chucked out of the ground during yesterday's match.  They were a group of girls with short dresses advertising Bavaria Beer (not one of the officials sponsors).  They were held by the police for a couple of hours.  Apparently they got their tickets off Robbie Earle who has been sacked by ITV as a "pundit"!!

I think I woke the neighbours up when Japan scored last night and I think I might have managed to wake the whole street just now.  Feckin delighted for the Kiwis.  Unbelievable silence from the Aussie commentators/pundits after.  NZ's first ever point in the world cup and I think only their second goal in the tournament.  Still, a shite game all over.

Re. the ball tonight, there was a bit of a gale blowing to be fair to the players.  However, nothing that an O'Neills size 5 wouldn't sort out.

Has been a terrible World Cup so far.  I know its early days but still, there has hardly been 90 minutes of good football between the 12 games played so far.

Ivory Coast vs Portugal on now.  Ronaldo was very close to giving Portugal the lead.  Hit the post with a great effort.
