Unfortunately no age limit for Sigerson.  But I think it will be on the agenda for next year.  Age limit of Under 21 for freshers. also new subcommittee set up to look at apprentices who can play with 20 credits while everyone else needs 60 credits per year

J'town fullforward line was Clarke, Cavanagh and McManus. Not bad!

Either Heaney got the wrong end of the stick or Mc Guckin was playing bit of mind games in Irish News today as the later two mentioned were meant to be on the bench..

On a side note I thought Sigerson had introduced a rule were over 24s were ineligible to participate?
Aye I seen that myself. They possibly did start on the bench, but were all on the park at one stage.
First I heard about that rule.

I think it is over 34s

very few County players play to that age, never mind college players.

put-it-up

DCU had brian Cullen playing today. Does anyone know how many years he has been in college?

Your man Kelly from Sligo at corner-forward was a flyer for DCU.

Yeah freshers is U21's and any fresher can't play Sigerson unless he is older than that.

Aidan O'Shea v Micheal Murphy tomorro as DIT and DCU meet.

Just to clarify - it's basically any Fresher cant play Sigerson or Fitzgibbon Cup but from second year on they can - it doesn't matter if they are still under 21 in 2nd year!!! No upper age limit either.

Pretty impressive alright. Got them at 5/1 before this game to win it out, i'd say odds are slashed now.
Home to Maynooth in qf, should be a handy enough one.

Maybe I missed it but has anyone the Trench Cup results from today?

Some start from Queens today - 1-5 to 0-1 up after 10 or 15 minutes minutes. To be fair though I think Poly probably deserved their victory as they were much the better side for the last 45 minutes. QUB were fairly reliant on James Kielt and goalkeeping errors for their scores. Jamie Clarke, your fella Morgan from Scotstown and McCann were amongst the Poly's better players.

Funniest moment of the day was Cathal O'Rourke's rant at Paudie Hughes after the penalty and equalising free!
