Would it not be better to make a start on the groundwork rather than voting against it over lets face it bullshit party politics.

Mehole and Co. aren't  going to  vote themselves out of existence, hence their  continual  foot-dragging on any preparation for a united Ireland.

Party before country.

Aaaahhh...but....but...the time must be right.

Fair play to SF to get the ball rolling on this. Shows up FFG big time.

FFG - totally West brits.

FG ridiculous as it is are doing a lot more for a UI than FF FFS. Varadkar speaks well on the matter these days too, shame he did f**k all when he was actually in a position to do something

Is the new Ireland going to be a 1 Party State?
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

As bad as they are at least they didn't just vote against an Irish Unity bill.

Mehole is a disgrace

He has bigger fish to fry in Europe, the ultimate destination for any UI

No, but FF/FG know  if a UI happened tomorrow,  they  will be  outnumbered  not only by SF , but  maybe even a combined unionist vote  as well (if an All Ireland parliament was  the outcome).

Hence, the foot dragging.

Might not have done much re a border poll, but keeping north in EU for goods trade post Brexit was an underrated achievement and quite a battle with Britain. Keeping island aligned on such matters will make eventual unification smoother at a time when Unionists thought they could put distance between standards on the island. The Future Ireland sovereign wealth fund was launched by Varadkar in 2018. It will have €100 billion by 2040. It's not wrap the green flag around me stuff, or vote getter, but it's long term economic policy to make unification work.
