I'd concur with that notion MM. I'm mulling over that selection since I heard it! Is Vinney not a better option at FB? Both are very mobile so it's not a natural selection to have either at FB but having a mobile man on Benny'll not go amiss!!  ;)

The Bottom Brick

Would it not be Flanagan to pick up Benny?

McQuaid will move centre back
33, 35, 47, 48, 52, 07!

thebandit

From what I hear Vinnie will pick up Coulter..... time will tell I suppose.

Westenra Hotel Junior Football Championship Draws made at CCC meeting on Thursday night:

Winners Group

Blackhill / Aughnamullen v. Currin
Killeevan v. Oram

Losers Group

Eire Óg v. Killanny
Fergal O' Hanlons v. Toome
Clones - Bye

Venues & Dates to be arranged.

Main Street

I heard snatches of the game on satellite radio which ended as soon as Monaghan scored the second goal.
The goal sounded great though and maybe the fitness levels were better than Down even though they had 2 games already.
Finlay's late point, sublime?
Did Monaghan perform better than what the Down supporters are writing?
Any chance of the game against Derry being televised?
Where will it be played?

thebandit

Any word of club championship fixtures?

Mid Mon

thebandit

Because my favourite team are out of Ulster :D

Mid Mon

Maybe if you put a few of them up you might sell a few more, show them off a bit.

thebandit

Thanks for the sales tips. I'll bring them up at the next board meeting!!

On a footballing note, Ballybay look to be heading for intermediate after a defeat by Doohamlet. Scotstown are in serious trouble as well, losing to Donaghmoyne at home would have been a shock.

Any word of Club championship fixtures? All depends on Sunday I suppose

billy the kid

I would imagine your club championship will be able to proceed after sunday!!! I would love to see Derry V Monaghan in the all ireland Semi-Final but its hard to see both the teams coming through.  Kerry arent what they were but i still think they will have to much class for the farney men.  Derry have a better chance because Dublin arent as good as kerry they stumbled through a weak province and im sure they are very thankful for the illegal goal against meath and that they were playing a meath team that wasnt settled like now. Dublin are built up every year because it sells papers to the Knackers who believe what they are told to believe.  Dublin are a formidable obstacle but are not like kerry a band of ruthless assasins waiting for an opening to put you to the sword.

Both Ulster teams deserve great credit for how far they have come this summer i hope and pray the journey doesnt end this weekend!!!   Lets travel in our numbers and give both teams the support they deserve.

Doire Abu!!!!
If it moves hit it
If it doesnt hit it anyway!!

What is the story with the county board trying to make Currin and Ballybay play on Monday night after all Dick Clerkin and Paul Finlay did for their county on Sunday? Disrespect of the highest order. Shame on the fixtures committee.

ExiledGael

Seen the brief reports from the SFC, any observers?
Damien Freeman was taken off with a head injury apparently and Tommy was sent off for striking, is this correct? Do they get a lot of stick for the club?
Who'd be favourites now?

Do they give get alot of stick? Not overly but they dish not enough. Did Sean Woods quit them? I know he threw the managers bib off after the drawn game over the stick he took from his own players.

I also see Jim McCrory has walked out on Inniskeen after the Donaghmoyne game. Call me cynical but did Jim not figure on the seaon lasting this long and had only "charged" for his services till the end of August and then decided to walk as the going got tough with no more "expenses" on the horizon.

Having had Jim at our Club I would consider him one of the biggest mercanaries in Ulster football at the minute. Saying that, it might give Inniskeen an incentive to push on and they could catch Carrick cold this weekend.

Clontibret can only lose the Championship this year, very hot favourites in my book. Don't think any other squad will match them this year. They could also give Ulster a rattle if they can get past Cross (Armagh Champs?) in first round.
