Some overreaction there Illdecide!

Rangers are never going to send Celtic back to the 90s, just calm down a bit. Definitely a candidate for glass empty post of the month.

From where we finished a few weeks ago...Id be very happy if we cut 10 players off the wage bill and secure the services of Maeda, CCV, Saracchi, Ianacho, Osmand, and Oxy...

If anything is frustrating me its the delay in getting these priorities sorted.

Martin in from the start of the year and most of those 6 available (a couple of proven goalscorers there) I dont think Rangers have it in them to put us anywhere!

If I thought we could get £25m for Engels Id take it, but invest all of that on two replacements. Hes a 6.5 for me, rarely a 7 or 8.

Martin not a stupid man, I think he will end up with a good few boxes on his wish list ticked.

Hearts have signed 7 players, Rangers 1 - I don't think anyone in hoops would be excited by their singings. I presume the World Cup means that not much business is getting done at this point in pre-season. So, I will reserve judgement as to how much of a shambles the set up currently is. If players start going out the door without anyone coming in I will have to move closer to illdecide's position. Though I doubt any team in Scotland is run well enough to start a period of dominance.

It's beyond belief at this stage.  As much as I admire Martin O'Neill, he's always been a Desmond man.  Nothing changes until Desmond goes.  The only time Celtic had a competent CEO, he was gassed after a few months for not following orders.  It's infuriating and there is absolutely no need for it.

Bannside, I think you are sadly mistaken about the manager having a wish list and getting boxes ticked.  They won't even pull the trigger on Saracchi for just over a million quid.  In 2026.  Seriously.

I'd be very close to Illdecide's way of thinking as well tbh. Totally asleep at the wheel, after the luckiest of lucky titles.

Eventually Rangers will get it right, as getting it right appears to just be the least bad of the two, which doesn't look like that big a challenge at the minute.

McInnes knowing the league and being a "Rangers man" might be the catalyst, same for the likes of Shankland. They're bad but the gap aint that big, wouldn't take much to close it as it's a small gap already

Have to agree with this. The coming season worries me

Ah look lads, all that is needed is 3 good signings up the spine of the team and neither Rangers or Hearts will be able to touch them.

That said... when is the last time 2 good signings were made in one window never mind 3!  ;D

TBh i'd normally be an optimistic person with my glass half full but this club frustrates me so much on how it's run and what it could become. The potential Celtic have is massive but the people running the club just want to be a few points ahead of the pack...Ohh and make no mistake about it if Rangers get ahead of us they won't stop to wait on us the way we do, they'll go for the jugular, anyway a quick run thru the team in case some have forgotten where we're at...

Goals - Sinisalo and Doohan. Hardly inspiring
RB - A Johnston, Ralston and Colby Donavan (Happy with that but if Johnston leaves we're goosed)
LB - Tierney & A Montgomery (sweet christ)
CB's - Scales, Trusty, CCV & Murray (CCV is always injured and misses 50% of the season, the rest are bang average)
Midfield - Nygren, McCowan, Engels, Bernardo, Hatate and McGregor (Hatate has asked to leave, MON told Bernardo he could be good for another manager but just not him and Nygren has itchy feet and there's also rumours of Calm Mac heading to play for Brendan as he's not happy with Celtic's approach to transfers etc) basically a shit show
Left wing - Jota, Balikwisha, Tounekti and possibly Maeda - Maeda is leaving, Jota is injured and the less said about the other two the better.
Right wing - Yang and James Forrest (Jesus wept)
Centre forward - Callum Osmand and Johnny Kenny (lost for words)

As pre-season starts tomorrow can someone please make this make sense.

Seeing it like that makes me feel even worse about the coming season. Bloody hell

No getting away from it or dressing it up. The board are clean useless. Just spend some bloody money.

Still f**k all news worth talking about

A farce of a club.

Am I the only one thinking that coming 2nd last year would have been a positive result in the longer term?

No1

Come on fellas, they have released more training gear for sale..............

People got emails yesterday saying that season tickets are sold out and that they remain on the waiting list.

Desmond and his lackeys think they are doing a fine job.

You might get your positive result this season. D Desmond owns around 35% of the club getting him or the board out would require someone to want to buy that shareholding and to satisfy fans invest in players and stadium. New owners dont grow on trees espicially for SPL clubs when the opportunity to make money is limited.

So he's a minority shareholder?

But he must be making money...otherwise he wouldn't be invloved.

Had a quick look.

Reckon the club paid out just over 500k in dividend last year and he lifted about a third of that, or
185k.

Which you might say is big money.

But when he's got probably 120 million quid tied up in the club, its piss poor. A return of 0.15% a year? That is abysmal.

While it might not fit with the popular narrative, he's not there for the money.
