Good luck getting the board to pay someone to take him.

How many times did he give the ball away?

Nygren & Yang couldn't tackle a fish supper.Happening this past few years.

I seriously don't think Mc Cowan would get a game for Magherafelt Sky Blues and I'm not joking.

From the Bunker

That was like death from a thousand cuts. Extra time just prolonged the agony.

I hope he doesn't look at Twitter on the way home  :-[  It's rough tonight!

Probably the worst night in European history. A bad night for O'Neill.

Just collapsed.

But the enquiry will be that you don't spend the money in 2/3 previous transfer windows, then this is what happens.

Like last year.

Have to agree with you. MON so nieve. All he had to do was get them over the line.
Who do you play though? What midfield do you put out? We sold our most capable midfielder and had no one lined up to replace him. There's zero physicality in that midfield. We got absolutely fingered there tonight.

He could have went 5 in the middle and just control the remainder of the game. They were 4 up ffs. They were getting pushed around in the middle and MON brought on Tounekti. Look at the size of Hassan.

Honestly, it's for the best. No point going to the Champions league and losing every game 4 or 5 nil.

Don't disagree.
Remain to be convinced about big Hogh.

He's starting to turn into 'big donkey' territory if he doesn't score more goals. He's a good target man though. But his finishing has been poor. His chance one on one with keeper was such a poor attempt. That goal wee conceded was just horrendous. Gave them all the hope they needed to push on.

I thought that was the obvious thing when 3-0 up (nevermind 4-0) and it's not often I question MON but last night was Nancy-esque levels of naivety

seafoid

Last year they didn't have a striker. This year they were overrun in midfield

1 Celtic are winners. They have the institutional know how to win. They were 8 points down against Hearts and they won.

2. As the former Scotland international Gordon McQueen says: "Football is all about money and greed and everyone's involved in it

3.  There is no money in soccer in Scotland. https://www.transfermarkt.com/celtic-glasgow/startseite/verein/371
116m on players. Top Premiership clubs are 1 billion.

4  Late 90s I think .  Rangers played Liverpool in the CL. English media called it the battle of Britain. Rangers had Brian Laudrup, Mark Hateley,Gascoigne, Andy Goram. Walter Smith was a good manager. Rangers spent 10 million on players in 1995. Compare to Prem now.

5.  The last really good striker Celtic had in Europe was van Hooijdunk.  O Neill got them to a final. That was 20 years ago8

6. Even if teams are excellent they can't win
Monaco had a great team in 2017  and all the players were sold the next season.

7. George Carlin

https://youtu.be/fT03vCaL-F0?is=4LhtS_F0tOmoneybag6

8. The last non moneybags team to win the Champions League with a great manager was Porto in 2004. Steaua Bucharest won in 1986
Red Star Belgrade won in 1991 . These are all from poor countries. Serbia has €4 bn in pensions. Ireland has €68bn . But they know how to win and have a culture of football excellence. We don't.

 https://youtu.be/S2XQdkvNQqw

9. Tottenham don't know how to win and they have players worth 879m and they are Spursy and they don't have a culture of excellence.

10 The best Celtic can do at the moment is beat Rangers

11. Celtic and Porto and Red Star Belgrade and Steaua Bucharest only work under socialism when all the teams get a fair shot . Celtic are like Down. With a good manager and a decent team they can go all the way. But Down don't have to worry about money.

https://youtu.be/S2XQdkvNQqw

.12 Celtic will win the Champions
league again. Excellence and culture of winning and the right manager. But at the moment they are Junior C.

The Europa League is the level Celtic are and they may even struggle in it. But that was still horrendous. McCowan and Ralston do not have the quality on the ball, and the midfield has little positional discipline, physicality and can't tackle. Engels whilst a good player was the same, Baur looks decent but again he is hardly the biggest.
Stop buying tricky wingers and playmakers, get some steel into the side. Tierney and Johston are not imposing full backs which makes the need for a few big men in midfield even more important. It is why Scales always looks good in a Celtic jersey as he is one of the few who puts himself about.
It is a pity for MON unless they turn it around in the Europa this game will be an oversized part of his legacy.
