Desmond doesnt miss Rodgers in his statement.

Main Street

That was an usually strong statement by Desmond on the exit of a manager, hard to tell whats what but I'm inclined to give a deal of credence to Desmond. Rodgers had enough at his disposal to field an effective team. these past weeks. Celtic should be the last club in the EPL to be moaning about injured players, there is something amiss with the management that has effected the team.
Has to be Robbie Keane now with Celtic being his first and greatest love  :)

Obvious there is no nda in place
Desmond economical with the truth in his statement ( every pound generated is re invested ... so why have they millions in the bank, a crap stadium  and are paying 5/6 million corp tax each year ffs) should be no where near giving  such a statement as  he is simply a non exec
Brodge no angel but the board at Celtic have messed  up major league and won't accept any responsibility
Desmond and the rest should go because in his words Celtic is greater than one person

Some statement from DD. I really hope Brendy has a right of reply and isn't gagged and secondly has something to actually fire back with! This feels like it's going to get very publically messy.

Tbf, a lot of what Desmond is saying would be my thoughts on Rodgers, particularly the self-serving bit.

Id say if theres any lies in there, Rodgers lawyers will be involved.

I'm sure Desmond's team have kept the receipts. Claims around being offered a contract extension, signing off on transfers etc. are sure to be available should they need to be called upon. It would be very messy if it got to bluffs being called.

Brendy goes missing in pressure moments. Didn't get over the line at Liverpool. Left Leicester in the relegation zone, and ended up relegated.

Brendy had to go but f**k me what a load of shite from Desmond! The biscuit tin mentality has existed way before Brendy was around! This disaster has been a build up of years and years of the board not investing in the team/facilities/managers and youth structures. Rodgers has called them out and they don't like it.

Look-Up!

Very messy stuff. Very strong words from Desmond but football fans can be mobbish. If he felt people were at risk from physical assault and Rogers was stoking that anger with mistruths then fair enough. If he's talking shite and throwing the managers under the bus very poor form.

On the overall picture Celtic are by far the most successful team in Scotland in donkey's years. If that's under-invested try following a team that wins nothing. That's real support. They're going through a blip at the moment. I'm sure they'll sort it out but with the league they're in any investment will have a ceiling. Spending to compete in European big leagues is a pipe dream. They cannot afford to hold onto players of that calibre long term with their revenue. So they'll buy cast offs or young potential at affordable prices. Some will work out, some will be shite. And the ones that really work out will be sold. That's the job.

The board bricked it last January not replacing Kyogo before the Bayern game which they could have won, and so ends an era, badly mismanaged, they're only hoping to fall over the line in the league, they've lost the challenger impetus as they are dominant domestically and have no ambition in Europe

Look-Up!

They took lots of hidings too with Kyogo playing. Who knows what could have been if he was playing, doesn't necessarily translate they would have faired any better against Bayern. Could very well have been worse. They brought in Jota and Schlupp. Uninspiring maybe but Kyogo has hardly been inspiring since his move. People mightn't like the reality too much but the board are trying. Only for Slippy G they'd be going for what, 15 in a row. That's hardly not trying.

Desmond not missing the target with that statement.  Doesn't leave Rodgers' reputation in good shape.
That's just, like your opinion man.

Look-Up!

No doesn't. I'm sure Desmond is a pain in the hole. Wants his cake where Celtic are concerned but doesn't want to be spending too much of his champagne and caviar money on the club either. And I'm sure Rogers is a pain in the hole. Wants the moon and the stars but would be gone in a shot if any Celtic success leveraged him a deal with a big club down South. Truth lies probably somewhere in the middle but no use bemoaning not rubbing shoulders with Bayern when you can't get your team up for a game with Dundee or Kazak opposition.
