Buy a MAC for college and get a free ipod touch

Im in the process of getting a new Mac for University and just saw this offer on the Apple website. It says that if you are a member of a University or College either student or member of staff, you can buy a new Mac a get a free iPod touch. The Apple UK site has the MacBook at £703, while on the Apple Ireland site it works out at £765 and on Apple.com it comes in at £576.

Has anyone made use of this deal and is it possible to buy it from America to get it for the dollars price?

You can't it has to be delivered to an address in the states and bought with an american credit card (or similar payment). Same with the Ireland store. Apple offer this every year, usually a way of clearing stock before an ipod refresh.
