In fairness, regardless of the economic climate, Cork, Kerry and Derry would never bring much of a crowd to Croke Park for a league final.

Think that was more of a case of McEneaney trying to convince us Monaghan have no system. Fooling no one Banty.

These games will tell us a lot less than your typical league finals. All 4 teams have little interest in league titles, especially in the division one tie. The atmosphere of that last game was dire. Monaghan didnt track back to defend at all and looked disinterested. Cork for all their dominance hit a fierce amount of wides and I cant help feeling their forwards are as overrated as ever.

I think we will see a comfortable victory for Kerry later on. Quite a raw Derry team which for various reasons couldnt be that hungry for a league title. I'd expect Cassidy will also be restrained with thoughts of Banty & Co watching on the one hand and the importance of keeping a Derry players feet on the ground on the other.

The real ties are a mix of todays match ups. Cork-Kerry and Derry-Monaghan. Today is a bit like two couples on the dancefloor keeping one eye out for the other

can't agree. Cork are heading for tier 1 status- monghan are comfortably tier 2 status. Cork have 5/6 players off their 21's to add-thats monghan's full whack today.

Cork are probably around 3rd in Ireland, aye, but not by much. What exactly are you disagreeing with? That Monaghan were poor? That the Cork forwards were wasteful?

Anyway, happy enough at half time with Derry. Great experience for the new faces. Paddy and Eoin were doing fantastic, hopefully Kielt stands up in Paddys absence. Once again a quick start from Derry, Kerry got the run of the ball a couple of times early on to get back then started dominating at midfield, Quirke in particular was good, but lucky to stay on the field after getting ticked and then hauling down Divers run through the defence. Big Walsh was giving McGuckin a tough time, thinks hes been switched to Gooch. McCloy battling well and Sean Leo is doing very well on Darren O'Sullivan kept him very quiet.

Good to see McKaigue taking an excellent score, if he does that more often I cant wait to see this 'twice as good' Caolan O'Boyle, eh Oakleafer!

sum differences in the substitutions-  kennelly, moran, dara o'se. Derry Ryan Dillon, mcbride, seamus bradley.  but how many subs did Kerry used- i think its either 6 or 7- didnt see any blood subs or yellow card's. Is it just me or has aidan o mahoney only came into the game since paul murphy has went off. didnt notice him at all when paul was on.

Thought we only played in fits and starts. 3rd gear for most of the game. In fairness we have a great bench to empty. Dara's distribution when he came on was very good. Tadgh did very well also.

Win was more important than the display, poor game, always thought we were well in control.
Kerry brought on 7 subs, Dara, Moran, Kennelly, Sean O'Sulllivan, Bohane, Quirke, Aiden O'Shea & Sheehan so could be more left in this yet.
3/3 for the Munster counties - does this make Munster the strongest province?

Something over 20,000 was today's attendance.  Nowhere near that number would fit in to Parnell Park.  The venue was the right one.
