Fully agree with this, I think sometimes the Division 1 clubs underestimate the quality that is in the junior division. These teams coming into it with recreational purposes and diluting that league and making a joke of it. Maybe if you spilt junior into D3 and D4 it would be better. If a coalisland thirds team didn't exisit would the likes of Brackaville and Killyman benefit from a few extra players who do want to take it seriously? Same with Ballygawley.

The top half of Division 3 is very strong for Junior football.

DownFanatic

In Down there is the Premier Reserve Football League, Division 1 and 2, with a Premier Reserve Football Championship too. The teams in this would mostly be the second string from the clubs in Division 1 and 2 of the senior leagues. Then there is the Reserve Football League, Division 1 and 2, with a Reserve Football Championship. Teams in this would mostly be the second string from the clubs in Division 3 and 4 of the senior leagues and the third string from some of the biggest clubs in the county. They have also brought in subsiduary championships for those knocked out in the early stages of the PRFC and RFC. Gives a few more competitive games.

Premier Reserve football in the county is fixed for 5pm on a Saturday evening. Reserve football is at 6pm on a Sunday evening. However, the amount of forfeits in the latter over the past number of years has been staggering and that's even at 13-a-side.

There has been some talk that second string teams are going to be brought into the senior league setup in Down and initially go into Division 4. It's been near 30 years since this was last done and the proposal for it has been lukewarm to date.

Also a few key games at the bottom if T@tts beat Clogher you could have 4 teams joint bottom on 6 going into to last few games. Massive win for Cookstown at the weekend as lifts them out of it a bit. Aghyaran season ended when they had their internal row by the looks of things but still a good result for Cookstown to beat them.

Ronan McHugh and the brother fell out with the manager and haven't played since is what I've heard.

Heard the same, their winning is done for the year without the McHugh brothers.

I would fancy Eglish to win that as Galbally didn't look that impressive when we played them a couple of weeks ago and they took a hammering from Beragh who are struggling otherwise

Conor McKenna still playing for Eglish? Just havent seen amongst scoring as much lately

Under Lights

Have a feeling Galbally trying to peak at right time. Maybe struggled in middle of the season but struggling your way to a point off the leaders isn't bad struggling. Shrewd men at the helm. Don't rule out Pomeroy for league either. Could be twists yet. Eglish have to go to Kildress and Galbally have to go to Gortin

Pomeroy Galbally be a great first round of Championship.

Hearing rumours of transfers to Castlederg a possibility. If stories i'm hearing are true i'd be backing the Aghyaran Manager to the hilt no matter how badly needed they are. Scamps!!!

Do those stories involve Tyrone's other Logan?
