Will give Rodgers one thing. His signings of Sturridge and Coutinho in January have been inspired. Both have been fantastic. If we had both of them all season we would probably be higher up the table right now. To make any progress towards a CL place he will have to get his signings right again in the Summer though.

Coutinho is a gem.
His pass for Sturridge's third goal was magic.
In fact some of the goals Liverpool have been scoring lately have been quality.
Nordie Tayto is shite

Makes you wonder is Suarez (style of play and baggage) holding them back? You also have to remember that Liverpool have been playing for nothing for the last couple of weeks, these shackles off make games easier and meaningless. There will be one or two coming and goings this summer. Interesting to see what will happen with Carroll.

In the 11 games Suarez has missed through suspension last season and this season I think Liverpool have won 7 of them. That said where you really miss a player of his quality is against the better sides.

David Villa is looking away from barca, if they came in an offered money plus villa for suarez would you take it?
i dont think suarez is a irreplaceable as is made out
just a thought

I would doubt if Villa would want to play for Liverpool.

Unfortunately at this point in time I think you are right. Would really need to be in CL to get a look in from big names in Europe. That is not to say a player wouldn't take a punt if their T&Cs was right and they felt a team was heading in the right direction. Would only be a punt though and I'm not sure the likes of Villa need to take a punt just yet!

might be pie in the sky, but it got me thinking.

Villa is 31 so there wont be that many top clubs queing up to pay big money for him.
Alot of players express an interest in playing in england, so stranger things have happened

Another Sneider-esque story. Wages will be too high.

Can Villa play centre-back? Surely that has to be the priority for next season.

blewuporstuffed

you could be right.

I could only see it being a  runner as a replacement for Suarez anyway.

as soon as the league ends at the weekend, silly season will begin with every big club being linked with every big player in the world.
especially with united chelsea & city all having new managers

Hound

Wouldnt want Villa.

Linked with Tello last year, I like him, and would suit our style of play. But he might be becoming important to Barca.

I think Suarez may be sold. And I don't think it'll be the wrong decision. And I think they'll time it so its not far apart from the Andy Carroll sale so we can massage the figures to not look too bad!

January 2011: Sold Torres and Babel for £56M
January 2011: Bought Suarez and Carroll for £57.8M

Summer 2013: Sold Suarez and Carroll for £58M
Summer 2013: Bought 3 worldbeaters for £60M
;D

2 new centre halves needed I reckon. Carra retiring. Skrtel looking like he might be sold and Coates hardly looking convincing on the odd occasion he gets a chance. 2 new centre-halves and Wisdom can cover there as well. Would like a strong athletic box to box midfielder as well. Maybe someone like Diame at West Ham.

Liverpool are scoring loads of goals but I think they've conceded the most they have since 1999. Priority this Summer definitely has to be reshaping the defence.

£57,999,999.99½ for Suarez looks optimistic.

If Skrtel and Coates are to be moved on then without a doubt 2 new CBs are needed.  Diame has a £3.5m buyout in his contract apparently so if they were able to include him in the Carroll deal that would be a bonus, maybe even throw in Jay Spearing.  Personally I feel that the big thing that needs to be secured for the new season is a top class coach to work with the defence. If they had someone who could organise the defence before they go on the field then that would go a long way to developing this team.
