Not very funny.
Also why would you post it on a Liverpool thread?

It was relevant to a couple of posts before it.

City don't need another forward, Chelsea do and Suarez would fit right in there.

If he keeps up his current form I would expect a bid from someone in the summer, especially if Liverpools mediocrity shows no sign of ending.

Don't see it happening to be honest. Even if they punt Ballotelli they already have a 25M+ striker sitting on the bench every week (who is scoring goals). Plus they probably won't be gunning for the Champions League after Christmas.

Torres was sold alright but Torres had already been sulking for a year previously and it was 50M which is hard to turn down. Suarez is happy where he is so it would probably take another 50M to get him especially after only recently signing a contract extension.

Yeah and if you read the article - it's all a load of shite

QuoteMANCHESTER CITY are poised to make a huge push to lure Luis Suarez away from Liverpool in the January transfer window.

City manager Roberto Mancini is keen to bolster his striking options with his team having struggled to replicate the form that earned a dramatic Premier League title last season.

And the Eastlands outfit are ready to turn his attentions to Liverpool's in-form Suarez, with City likely to be rebuffed in any attempt to sign in-demand Atletico Madrid forward Falcao given the Colombia international's believed preference of a move to Chelsea.

Mancini wants to restructure his forward line and is looking to move on Mario Balotelli having lost patience with the Italian, with both Milan and Balotelli's former club Inter interested in signing the firebrand forward.

Moneybags Paris Saint-Germain, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, are also monitoring Balotelli, who has yet to find the net in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool will not encourage any bids for Suarez, who only signed a new long-term contract in August after arriving in a £22.8million deal from Ajax in January 2011.

But City are acutely aware of the financial restraints Fenway Sports Group have imposed on Brendan Rodgers and could test the water with a bid in the region of £40million.

Last week, Rodgers admitted chances of keeping the Uruguay international at Anfield for future seasons will depend on to what extent the club can bolster their under-strength squad.

The Liverpool manager, who is intent on signing "two or three" players in the New Year, had said: "That's the task for everyone here – the manager and the board – to sell the club moving forward.

"I have had great support from Luis since I have been here. Both on and off the pitch he's really bought into what we are trying to do.

"The way of working suits his style and it's up to us as a club to keep moving forward and, when you do that, top players want to be around.

"He loves the club, he loves the football and everything about the training. He seems to be in a good place. It's up to us as a club to add players that can help support him and move us on."

Suarez has been in outstanding form this season, his equaliser that earned a 1-1 Premier League draw at Chelsea last Sunday his 11th strike of the campaign in all competitions and moving him alongside Manchester United's Robin van Persie in the leading scorer stakes.

It's not the first time Mancini has courted members of the current Liverpool squad. The City manager was keen on both Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger during the summer, only for the Anfield outfit to resist the interest – rejecting two bids for Agger – before the duo reaffirmed their commitment by signing new long-term deals.

Agger, meanwhile, is expected to be fit for Saturday's Premier League visit of Wigan Athletic despite pulling out of Denmark's midweek friendly in Turkey with a groin strain.

Liverpool like Arsenal and Spurs and every other club outside the top 3 are selling clubs - Suarez on current form will not be at Liverpool next season.

It's looking like no CL next year either, Suarez will want to move on either in January or June 2013.

I think the champions League angle is a pot of pish anyway. Its blatantly evident that usually the richest clubs  who pay highest wages are also clubs in the CL.

Some players when they say they want to be playing champions league football can be translated to, i want more wages.

You may think the CL is a pot of pish and I'd be in agreement with you there, however irrespective if the player wants to genuinely play 'at the highest level' or want more mullah in their back pockets the end result will be the same for Suarez and Liverpool.

I don't know what you work as, but if some one else came headhunting you with more money on offer you'd be off in a shot.

Why would a Uruguayan be any different? Ditto Fellaini at Everton

Man U won't take him and I'd say Chelski aren't in the running either. Leaving only City who are crazy enough to do it. It's likely he'll move but I'd say it won't be in England.

QuoteLiverpool striker Luis Suarez has stressed his commitment to the club after speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.

Reports in Thursday's newspapers suggested the Premier League champions were preparing to table a £40 million move for the Uruguayan forward in January, reports that were quickly denied by both City officials and Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.

And Suarez, who was named Liverpool's player of the month for October, has now reiterated his commitment to the cause at Anfield - insisting his intention is to see out a contract on Merseyside that has nearly five years still to run.

"I have a very long contract here and it's a dream come true to be playing at a club like Liverpool because, as I've said, as a boy I dreamt of playing for a team like this," Suarez told the club's official website.

"Now I'm here, it's all about enjoying myself and trying to be here for as many years as I can, because I'm at a club where I'm very happy, my family is happy, I've got fantastic teammates and a manager from whom I'm learning so much."

Liverpool's results have not been what fans were hoping for so far this season - the club currently lies 13th in the Premier League table with just two wins from 11 games - but Suarez is confident things will turn around shortly, starting against Wigan at the weekend.

"Wigan is an absolute must-win fixture," Suarez said. "It's a very important game for us to gain in confidence for the matches ahead and to get stronger here at Anfield, which is where we need to make the difference."

He added: "Let's hope we can keep improving. I'm working well and I'm very happy at a club where I've always wanted to be. At a club to whom I'm very grateful for the trust everyone is showing in me - a club with amazing supporters and teammates who are all great people.

"The other important thing is that the squad is very united. In spite of not getting the results we would have liked, we have a great spirit of togetherness and let's hope we can continue to pick up points."
