Just listened to Rodgers interview on The Anfield wrap.  A must listen for Liverpool fans.

Excellent isn't it.
There is a bit of Shankly about him in the way he speaks I think.

So the Liverpool players need to "Man up".  Is that directed at anyone in particular?

I would reckon the way it was worded would be directed at a few individuals, SG being one, Joe Cole being another.

All of them really, collective responsibility and all that, particularly with Rodgers system.

But if anyone was to be singled out it has to be Pepe Reina.

Listened to Brendan Rodgers interview. You can't help but be impressed by the man. Particularly compelling for me was the 4231 v 433 discussion, the analysis of the Podolski goal and his plans for Lucas whilst he is out injured.

Early days yet, but the man would really give you hope for the future.

True but he will need backing.

Very impessive to listen to him talk about the game but unless he has the raw materials to work with he can only do so much.

All the talk of Owen signing was making me sick. He represents everything that is wrong with modern football. A long time ago he decided that money was the priority and nothing else mattered, not the love of your club, loyalty to fans, even the love of the game. He sees football as a way of funding his horse fetish. Simple as. He's signed for Stoke now which is a pitty as I was hoping nobody would move for him and he'd be forced to join the Championship.

What makes you think he's any different to 97% of other professional footballers?

Like I said, he represents everything that is wrong with the modern game.  He is more on the extreme side of it than others though.

In addition to that, I just don't like him.
i agree with el cuervo,  there may be alot of footballers with similar mentalities, but owen seems to be the extreme end of it. completly out for himself and how much money he can wring out of the game.
What do you lads go to work for?

Owen is a tosser, but I don't blame anyone for making the most money they can. We all do it.

Jamaica came a calling, they obviously don't want to miss out like they did with John Barnes.

England will give the lad a few seconds at the end and hey presto he's an England international till the end of his days.

Bingo

Crazy stuff by England, he is well within the English underage setup and not as if Jamaica are a rival for him. Be no one in the Liverpool set up urging him to choose Jamaica.

Only last week, Rodgers spoke about talking to the English managements about using him wisely, so the U21's left him alone and then bang, Roy calls him up to senior set up. Think he played with U19's last week.
