finally got past 30.......and managed to get 44

I no this has been asked loads of times, but I'll ask again anyway  ;).

How safe is it to jailbreak your Iphone? I just got an IPhone 3GS and wouldn't mind jailbreaking it, but not sure of the specifics of it as I don't no anyone who has theirs jailbroken.  Can it be reset as everyone says, and do you get loads of the apps for free?

I would love to jailbreak my phone but I really don't have the balls to do it. Always thinking of worst case senario
