Enjoyed 2002 the best myself.
May have something to do with I was living in Australia at the time so the craic was mighty watching the games at a reasonable hour and I have fond memories of getting a ride off an English bird after the Cameroon game.

Was USA 1994 not widely regarded as one of the poorest world cups ever? 82 and 86 were the best in my lifetime.

1982 is the first WC I remember. Absolutely brilliant even allowing for the rose tinting after all those years.  Seem to remember some Arabs storming onto the pitch one game to berate the referee. 1986 also very good.
Recent one in Sth Africa by far the worst. WCs imo should not be played in the cold.

I have vague memories of my da insisting I come in to watch the 1970 World Cup Final. I have watched highlights a good few times since and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that that was the best one ever...well the games with Brazil in them anyway!!
