I thought he was 'criticising' the Dubs?

Ok then, a comparison for you:-

Tyrone taking a free - there were lots of booing.

Dublin taking frees - well i did hear one Tyrone fans boo - to which the other Tyrone fans told him to shut up.

And can you show me the post where i said that the 'english' booed a free kick at a GAA game?

**Edit - If you are a genuine fan i apologize for that statement.  If you were at the O`Byrne cup final and will be in Parnell Park next week and will be heading to the away games then fair play to you - you are a true Dublin fan.  These fans are fine fans ( but then again i`ve stated this already)

Canalman - not a wind up merchant ( well kinda ), but all i am doing is stating facts.  Could state further facts about some of the "fans" yesterday, but i would never tarnish counties fans because of a few.

in the post it says "Leave this type of thing to english scum".  I deliberately said type of thing.  At no mention did i mention, the GAA or Croke Park. 

I have obviously hit a nerve. 

If i had said that that McMenamin should not be acting like Ben Thatcher and being a kn**ker would you have said the Ben Thatcher never played in Croke Park?

To stress for the forth time.  My post was a bit of fun ( stated in first post ). My subsequent posts were all factual.  The booing seemed to be from quite alot of fans ( admittedly in the Hill only ).  And the booing did go a bit quieter in the second half...as did the Hill.

I really dont see how anyone has the right/need  to declare any one a proper fan or not all this can do is alienate people from going to matches . is that what you want ? part of the beauty of sport is going along on the big day with the once a year people and making a day of it and being the oracle for every one the welcome pele feel the ,more likely thell come back.

I dont think day trippers care if some of the hardcore deem them lesser fans, they'd admit as much themselves.

i'm the same when it comes to irish rugby or soccer, i'll watch the big games and that but I dont go to u21 or eircom league matches, if some soccer head wants to tell me i'm not a real soccer fan then good for him, i couldnt care less, i still reserve the right to enjoy the world cup if ireland qualify.

If t seemed that i was trying to alienate people - i apologise.  Personally i thought it was great to see Croke Park packed on Saturday.  Was talking to a Dub in front of me saying that it was great as he could afford to bring the kids.

What annoys me is when fans claim to be the best in Ireland.  One of these fans who`ll be at Croke Park come the Summer, and will get tickets for the big games, did not even know it was a sell out on Saturday.  I don`t know when he was at a league game last.  What would annoy me is when this guy gets a ticket for one of the bigger games at the expense of someone who will be travelling around the place following Dublin.  The same would apply for the soccer team, if someone can get a ticket for a big game at the expense of someone who really deserves it - that would annoy me.

As for the Eircom League games tayto....if you have a local team try it out, some of the games are decent enough.  All the fans are proper fans and there are definitely now glory-hunters.

bulwinkle, i've been to a few eircom league matches and to be honest i found it poor enough fare, the nearest club to me means nothing to me. Anyways I don't have the time between following dublin football, hurling and the club championships to be honest. Mrs tayto wouldnt be best pleased if i took up following another team! 

I dont think 'real' fans get stuck for tickets too often. Especially dubs with the parnell park pass. I think the only fans who declare themselves to be "the best fans in the world ever ever ever" are are munster rguby fans and Irish soccer fans ... Dublin while big in numbers during the championship, even the most biased dub wouldnt claim we've the best fans.

Aye, some games are poor, very poor.  Some are decen...but what makes up for it is the pure craic of the games.

Well to be honest i find soccer dull enough at the best of times, but if Ireland are playing it just, just, makes it exciting enough, only if it's a competitive match. Like i say, i'm a day tripper when it comes to soccer and I don't care who knows it, i'm sure a lot of people are the same about the GAA.
