Quote from: gallsman on August 09, 2025, 10:05:03 AMI remember the dad of an ex of mine had 123 SBE, for the kids' initials, on his Jag. Would have been in his 50s and a prominent enough solicitor in Belfast. Not some cowboy from Tyrone or South Derry in boot cut jeans racing around in an Astra.

The ma's Merc had 321 EBS.

Just shows that being a dickhead cuts across everything. Geography, race, religion, class, status, age, sex, whatever. An ageless truism. If you've a personalised reg, you're a dickhead.

Friend of mine was gifted his initials and the number 30 by a relative for his 30th birthday. What's your opinion so I can let him know?

You can't be buying one each birthday with a different number, if it is a woman just get NOW 21 and leave it at that.

Got a flat tyre and somehow two of the wheel nuts broke off flush too so when I removed old tyre I have too nuts jammed right inside the threads so can't get the spare on,tried drilling them out and using a few kits from screw fix that advertised as wheel nut removal jobs but no luck...

would changing the wheel hub be my next move,is that a big job?? Remove the break caliber, then remove the centre hub and replace it does it all need disconnected from the socket behind etc ??

It's a Citroen Berlingo if that makes any difference to the problem

Have you a welder? Weld a nut on the broken stud.

Yeah you can change the hub too. Would be fairly cheap. The only problem is that you need to may need to tighten the wheel bearing up to the right spec.

You might be able to weld another nut onto the broken stub if you have space? You would then be able to loosen it

Yeah a few people had suggested the welding idea, but didn't break off flush,so it's back in say 10mm so maybe would be tough enough to get a welding wire/rod in at it to attach something but it's a good shout and might be worth a try first

There was a bit of knocking  at the front of my car lately. Thought it might be a  track rod end or something. My mechanic says  there's a slight  problem with the steering rack (or column, can't  remember which. Maybe they're the same?), but nothing Really  to worry about

Anyway... car was for NCT/MOT  earlier in the week. Passed ok. I thought  if  there was a problem, they might pick it up. They didn't.

So... yesterday, spotted a   cracked tyre. Stopped  for a new one.  Mentioned to the man about the steering thing, and could he do  do the alignment.  He said the steering thing  might  make the alignment a pointless exercise, and suggested getting  a second  opinion  on the steering issue.

Do you think this could  become a serious issue? Might  it need fixing?

Anyone any experience of ad blue issues. Have an A4 that message came up to refill. So finally got round to getting it refilled there but the message still coming up and miles still counting down to "no restart".
I'm assuming it's a sensor issue in the tank but was wondering if anyone had similar?

Yeah think theres a part you can replace but cheaper to just get it coded out. Maybe £150 or something.  That ad blue is some dose.

Could be a delay between the ad blue being put in and it fully registering just. See if it still says the same in a few days.

Aye I've given it a few days. That's the problem now as it's only got 80 miles left. But on advise of someone else I've her parked on a hill over night and going to take for a spin later as sometimes the sensor sticks apparently. But if doesn't work going to need a new sensor.
