Always look on the bright side of life.

Jaysus wep another self inflicted wound is the major play of the game.

The Dutch lead 1-0.

was waiting on the Dutch half and full for £300  :'(
Scoring so early in 2nd half is pouring salt into my wounds!

Overthebar!

Capt Pat

2-0 now to the dutch. It should have been 3, but they haven't been all that impressive.

I've no truck with the gaelic supremacists, but I've just been watching Japan -v- Cameroon and it's muck.  If I saw that at a League of Ireland game I'd be looking for my money back.  Just awful stuff entirely, clueless and inept.

Did you see the headline on The Sun on Saturday taking the piss out of the Yanks?

So far there has been some really dire games, thon Cameroon vs Japan was pure turd, along with the first 2 games yesterday? Hopefully Santa Cruz is on song tonight and scores an early goal and maybe a bit of excitement.

It should all get better from now on, looking forward to seeing Spain and Brazil over the next few days. Teams will probably be more adventurous in the next round of fixtures as there's more at stake.

Finally got to see some world cup action today (2nd half of japan game) wasn't up to much & from what i hear it's been a poor world Cup so far...

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Not a good sign when you're looking for Italy and Paraguay to provide the entertainment!

buzzzzzzzz  relieved Ireland didn't buzzzzzzzzzzz qualify as i had planned to buzzzzzzzzzzzz go but those horns would buzzzzzz put my buzzzzzzzzz head away buzzzzzzzzzzz. they should be shoved up their holes. They aren't cultural... some wide boy from the West (not West Tyrone!) sold them a load of plastic horns...  horrible to listen to  buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Capt Pat

I think the teams are being careful in their opening games and are afraid of defeat. I think in the next round of games teams that lost in the opening round will need to get a win and the games will be more open as a result.

Though Eng fans have plenty of examples of teams who started poorly and went on to do well in the competition, who were the last World Cup winners who failed to win their opening game??  Italy 0 Poland 0 (1982)
There's even more examples of teams who started poorly and crashed out without having a sniff of winning.
