QuoteLennon, Lampard, Gerrard, Cole,

I hope thats the midfield. and im sure anyone playing England would too  :D
Not a tackler or a playmaker among them.
That midfield cannot keep the ball and they have nobody to win it back
when they do lose it.

FermGael

Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Is there anyone England could play as a ballwinner? Gerrard would be the closest to it for me, Carrick doesn't have the legs and hasn't got the tenacity of Mascherano or others like him. Hargreaves would have been perfect. Was reading fourfourtwo today, can't mind whose article but it said this was the strongest England team he remembered for a long time, can't see how anyone would think that.

To find his equal an Irishman is forced to talk to God!

Not long now! Was watching GMTV this morning, (I know not the best football knowledge haha) but they were talking to a few SA fans going to the game and yer man said, that the 2 previous times were african teams played in the first game of the WC, they won, he said Cameroon beat the Argies (when was that?) and Senagal beat France in '02. So ye never know..South Africa has history, and witchdoctors too probably  :P, on their side!

Cameroon beat the argies 1-0 in 1990, back in the days when the holders used to play in the first game, this was ditched in 2006 and this year. It's now the hosts who open the tournament. (Germany v Costa Rica in 2006)

Very good AFS  :D

He should retire now, 100% record from the spot. And better than Diana Ross.
