What happened to the £5,000 Kirk give her from the original gift/loan?

Couple of things stand out from the programme:
Iris just manages avoid taking her life and Peter heads of to work as if nothing has happened and makes jokes in the chamber;
Peter croc tears yesterday when it was clearly a tactic to get in first before Spotlight airing.
Large debt of Iris' which was quoted in her text messages - with all her allowances/expenses/salaries - what the hell was she spending the money on?
After her performance on the Nolan show, very glad this has come back to bite her hard on the ass.
