Fergie fielded a weakened side because the FA Cup was the least important of the remaining 3 trophies.

Does anyone really thing he would have fielded that team if the PL was out of reach & Utd were out of the CL?

Its fcuk all to do with arrogance

And the fact that they kept Everton scoreless and had numerous chances never mind a penalty which wasnt given shows that Fergie was not being arrogant, he fielded a team which was more than capable of beating everton and only for a lack of quality penalty takers United would have won.

And only for a lack of players to take the "numerous" chances that United had...........

Dont think anyone would pay £25 million in the current climate & with the form of Berbatov.
Although as you say he wont be sold. Fergie doesnt really like being made out to be wrong so he will hold on to players for far longer than he does, ala Djemba Djemba, Kleberson etc

Those two had never proved themselves in the Prem before they were bought though, Berba was already known to be a class act with Spurs and started brightly at United only to flop
Berbatov was never worth the £30m or whatever it was, but United regularly pay over the odds for players so price doesnt really matter.

Berbatov has scored 13 goals in 36 starts and has 12 assists. Far far superior to Tevez. Yet Berba is a flop and everyone loves Tevez?

Sure, he hit a poxy bad penalty. But so did Tim Cahill, and he's been a legend of a player for Everton. And at least Berbatov had the balls to volunteer. Unlike at least one of Scholes and Tevez. How can an experienced goalscorer like those not have the balls to step up to shoot from 12 yards?

They had plenty..just didnt take them, if only liverpool had as good a second string to call on you would be "genuine" title contenders

Apart from the 2 or 3 times he fcuked things up himself , he had little to do until penalties.

Manchester United fans round on Dimitar Berbatov

This would be how I feel as a Utd supporter.

Hound if Liverpool had a choice of Tevez or Berbatov would I be right in assuming you would have Berbatov?

He had one save to make from an average Cahill shot as far as i can remember.

I think a lot will depend on how Berbs reacts to this criticism & to that penalty miss.
