Carrick needs to grow and pair and drop underperforming players. Baleba and Diallo will be a big help.

Look-Up!

Pressure will inevitably be building again on manager and not an easy few days ahead with CL tomorrow and away to Leeds at weekend and CL again 3 days later.

Other big clubs have their problems but at least their ownerships are clear enough. Utd really is a club in limbo both on the field and in the boardroom. There will always be drama on the field but can't help but feel there's big shit coming down the line up top. Ratcliffe and Glazers will come to loggerheads, it's inevitable. When though?

When the 3 year ban on dividends is up, it will be interesting to see what the Glazers will do. They have the voting rights as majority stake holders to reinstate payouts to themselves but the club has to be making money, a caveat the wily old Jim put in. Plus money ringfenced for infrastructure investment etc is prioritised. So most likely scenario, or maybe best case scenario long term for club will be that there's no money and Glazers get fed up and cash out. So Jim might be happy enough to plod along and keep afloat for now. If they do too well and success and money starts flowing again, Glazers will start suckling and won't be got rid of for anything less than a King's ransom. INEOS would be effectively robbing themselves.

50 million buck for a midfielder that couldn't get a game for Chelsea, what a time to be alive #definitleynotmoneylaundering

Money laundering only works if you have money to launder lol

He's Brazilian though. Can he do that spinny thing on his leg? That was class. Maybe practice that he'll get a run.

Santos played the last two games for his country. I know Brazil is not one of the best teams in the world any more but Ancellotti is not an idiot. Way too early to write this kid off yet. United have always overpaid for players. He's 22 and there's no need to bin him after 6 weeks.

Look-Up!

Yeah was only messing, he'll get plenty of chances. If he's good enough to take them.

Armagh18

This ref has been atrocious.

Jeepers Creepers

Martinez having a pop at the clubs hierarchy will make the tabloids tomorrow. Raised a few eyebrows I'm sure

Media's wet dream. Reminded me of last manager's final interview. Not sure who else it helps apart from tabloids.

So how long will Carrick last?

Armagh18

Carrick needs to come out and support Martinez if he has any hope of keeping fans on side.

Thought United actually played alright but nowhere near ruthless enough with their finishing

Martinez throwing most of the squad under the bus saying they aren't good enough isn't a good look, can't imagine it will go down well in the dressing room.

I'd say all the players are thinking the same- should have strengthened more in the summer

All the players thinking that about each other wouldn't be great for the old team morale.

I am surprised things have unraveled as quick for Carrick. Thought he would have been OK in the short term but it is going wrong pretty quick. The problem United had with Ole at the time was he would always seem to get a few results to gain a stay of execution. I can see the same cycle with Carrick for another wee while. Though in saying that they have 4 tricky fixtures between now and Halloween so he could be gone by start of November.

Some of the names suggested as replacement don't exactly inspire confidence. I see Conte named as one. That will either be brilliant or a complete disaster no in between with him.
