The winners of the prelim round might fancy their chances of a bit of a run.

You'd imagine the winner of this tie would be fit for the Antrim champions (no disrespect) and with Derry, Donegal and Monaghan winners on the other side of the draw, there's a great opportunity for a run to the final.

If Cross win Armagh, which I expect them to do, they'll fancy a good tilt at Ulster.

they would need to sort their defence out. Cant see them making a major impact unless they do

Well they overcame a 13pt deficit against yourselves who I would consider a top team. Who needs a defence when you have 4 or 5 players who can score 2s for fun?

Are they always going to score 2s for fun though? What happens if they just aren't landing them?

Winter football you'll likely get a half with enough wind to land a good lot of them. They'll get it tight against Killeavy but should have wnough if Rians ban is upheld, if he plays should be relatively comfortable

They could score a goal or two. The Clan Èireann defence is better than a lot of teams.

No point talking about Ulster until you win your own county championship.

Literally one game at a time.

illdecide

For me the standout team is Scotstown, they're battle hardened and strong up the middle with the right experience and youth mixture. I think Truagh will give them a good game in the final but I expect them to win it and they will be hard to beat. This time of year is a different type of football and you'll start to see the score lines drop off a bit, I disagree with the two pointers in winter football, I'll expect less of them in general. All in all Autumn football moves onto suit the older more experienced teams with size more important now with a bit of cut in the ground.
Cross can build something and for me 1-2 players short at the back but I'n never rule them out.
Magherafelt have a good team and if they can beat Slaughtneil they could be dark horses too but a bit inexperienced.
Errigal Ciaran too if they beat Edendork can muster a run.

Should be a good Ulster Championship and it's likely there will be 1 shock along the way in the County Championships leading into Ulster
I can swim a little but i can't fly an inch

Magherafelt, Glen and Newbridge, then Slaughtneil slightly behind.
I've a sneaky feeling Glen will win Derry this year. 3 out of those 4 teams could win an AI club in Jan imo

Look-Up!

Cavan champions to host Armagh. Smart money will be on Armagh as wins for Cavan clubs in this competition are like hens teeth. But we've been knocking on the door of late.

Gowna should have picked up a win v Noamh Conaill but for ill-discipline and a stupid late goal. Penalties V Enniskillen. Crosserlough ran Kilcoo very close. Kingscourt were very disappointing v Erne Gaels last year but Faulkner had gone travelling at that stage so was a massive miss. If Kingscourt go forward this year it will be their second title in 2 years. If it's Gowna it'll be their third in 5. So I wouldn't be expecting any county final hangover at this stage. Plus both clubs I would argue have grown stronger with good young players developed and older experienced heads available and fully fit.
