Wasn't she on the Garvaghy panel of judges yesterday as well?

Keegan also reverses the human rights aspect of previous judgement. DfI 2 "Campaigners" 0.

Lady Justice Keegan says the A5 project was "larger than any road project undertaken in Northern Ireland" and "inevitably this issue intersects with the Climate Change Act".

"While the scheme will increase emissions it is a priority investment and should be proceeded with."

Very fenian sounding name, mightn't please Seamie and Carla!

Fantastic news on the A5 decision. Lets hope it gets the go ahead asap.

Great news. Three accidents on it last week alone.

What happens now? Does it finally proceed? Or do we have to endure a potential counter appeal?

I think she's originally from Newry.

So when does the next appeal come in from the AA5A? Will it be before the end of this week or will they wait t just as the digger is about to cut the first sod?

She is. Went to the Sacred Heart school.

I'm not an expert but I think the self-centred entitled farmers, sorry I mean the campaigners, can apply to have it heard in the Supreme Court in London.

They would need to apply for permission to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Gerry McAlinden getting a legal boot up the hole from Keegan.

Would that be another lengthy process? I assume contractors aren't going to be back on site soon?

I'd like to see the analysis and evidence that it would increase emissions.

Cars moving at a steady 50-60 mph produce less emissions than those accelerating and decelerating from 20-60 mph.

Or have they simply assumed that an additional journey on the new A5 is from a car that wasn't otherwise journeying somewhere else on another road? Or worse, that additional new A5 journey isn't from another car travelling to the same destination but taking a roundabout route and burning more fuel?
