Best players maybe be open to interpretation but absolutely one of their best servants.

That lad slogged his guts out for Derry throughout the years of Division 4 standard and winning nothing.
He deserves massive credit, he was also fundamental to Slaughtneils success.

I put him up around the top bracket. He's not in Scullion, McKeever,Lockhart level but the game was totally different.

He turned into a great man marker, one of the best in a way. sticky like Lockhart, Was he Scullion or McKeever no. He was better in corner back, than when he played at No.6.I thought he followed his man more to hold him scoreless, than hold the centre, even if your man scores. you need hold the centre at 6. Still give Dermot Connolly the roastings of all roastings.

I could have been harsher

Is that right aye? There's an opening for most Derry GAA voluntary roles (including PRO) in December. Assume you'll be applying?

Brendan

Being Voluntary is no excuse for simple mistakes such as wrong crests, scorelines, venues and posting endlessly about soccer clubs

Nope, I'll not be applying. But hopefully whoever does is able to get the crests correct, post the correct scorelines, list the correct venues for fixtures and give score updates. It's definitely an area where we are lacking at the moment, as a county. I think the right appointment in the PRO role would be an easy fix to get on par with every other counties socials.

You've been sore on management in the past, going by your own logic, you should give the county board a shout and throw your name in the hat as Chrissy's replacement. Numpty.

I'd be concerned if it's just or or two people. Clubs have pro teams these days to keep up.

I think the pressure to get stuff out quickly causes mistakes, I'd rather it was correct over being 1st.

Ai posters are saving them time but they are terrible looking (Glen)

Not sure anyone is in disagreement that Derrys social media exposure is fairly poor.

Derry Gaels podcast is a big improvement but thats obviously totally separate from the PRO.

There should be no soccer referenced on it at all, no need and they have plenty of platforms of their own.

Weekend Quarter finals:

Glen vs Kilrea - Dangerous game for Glen, should be too strong up front and Midfield. Kilrea need to shoot the lights out and continue with solid defensive display shown against Steelstown. Glen by 3

Magherafelt vs Lavey - Unless Lavey start playing a bit more football rather than this slow stuff I fear for them. I think Magherafelt pace and power will be too much. Magherafelt by 8+

Newbridge vs Bellaghy - Bellaghy keep getting over the line but haven't hit the heights of the first half against Dungiven round 1. I'd worry about their defence and Friel at 6 is a potential loss. Newbridge forwards could have a field day. Newbridge by 6

Ballinderry vs Slaughtneil - not sure what to expect here, we'll see more out of Ballinderry but Slaughtneil are definitely improving every game. Not sure if they look good enough to win it yet. Forbes vs Mc Guigan battle will decide it. Slaughtneil by 4.

No predicted upsets in there, we're surely due one?

I would bring back Hugh McGrath

Wouldn't be surprised to see Chrissy in as the U20 manager to cut his teeth before he is inenvitably appointed senior manager in a year or two

Wildweasel74

Need get it right, theres a very strong team there, like there has been past 4 outta 5 yrs, and still cant beat Tyrone. First strong team had no McAvoy and Murray, wasted against Fermanagh (Senior) and lost out on a final against Down.
