Of St Pauls, Moneyglass and Sarsfields it was only St Pauls who showed anything at all in the group games. But in all honesty the 3 of them should be relegated along with Tir Na Nog (who are down already) to try and improve the standard a bit.

Let's be honest and add glenravel  to the list, Dunloy done them a massive turn on Saturday  which nobody seems to be questioning.

Even a glenravel defeat was still putting Tir Na Nog in 4th spot.
Unless it was a tanking.

Everyone outside of Cargin, Creggan, Brides, Dunloy, Galls, PG1 and possibly Aghagallon are close to the same level.

That group outside of the clubs above are closer to the top of div 2 than they are challenging any of those ^ clubs, bar a freak result.

Might be better to ask the bookies about what's to be questioned. But the point stands that glenravel should be included in the group of teams to face the chop EOC has suggested (and i agree with him on the point), Dunloy gifting them a win shouldn't mask their deficiencies at this level.

Glenravel struggled in the league because they had Ryan McQuillan, Cathal Hynds & Niall Hynds with the county seniors and Un20s. Cormac McKeown was with the senior hurlers also. Take those 4 out of that set up and of course they'll struggle.

It just reinforces the mess that we have gotten ourselves  into with this current league & championship format.

Cargin in everyone's eyes will be big favourites for Championship and have a point to prove after last year's football lesson from Dunloy. 3 from 3 in the group of death.

St John's motoring nicely. They've clearly benefited from McBride not being involved in the county set up this year. Would be good for Belfast to see them make a break through. A few hot heads in their team though who are capable of seeing red... ahem.... the quinns!

St Brides will flatter to deceive as usual. They dont have the spine.

Portglenone I think will do it this year. Big scoring threats. Big 2 point talents. Minor champions last year. They've a great chance.

Dunloy 3rd favourites for me. Their pace and ability from outside the big arc Will see them there or thereabouts.

Everyone else are also rans.


In the intermediate, has to be St Endas to lose although they only beat Glenavy by a couple. Loads of quality and experience. They cant really win. Win and they should have won it. Lose and they're hot favourites and arguably too good for it who choked to lesser teams. I can see the Aldergrove lads winning it if its not Endas. Nobody else in the race for me.

Junior... couldn't tell you but I hope its a good one. Rasharkin favourites for that?

Honestly, no jealousy at all on my part. I was just responding to EOC's proposal and pointing out that there were other teams at the same level as us, TNN, moneyglass  & St Paul's, but got gifted a handy win which covered their true level. This season was always going to be very very difficult for us, so to be still in there  with a chance of staying up after the league phase is an achievement in itself with us favourites to go down via the league before it started. unfortunately we got a difficult  championship draw, but that's what can happen so no complaints  on that front.
I'll happily enjoy supporting my club at the playoffs, we've nothing to lose and everything to gain. Success  is different  things to different people, if we survive, that would be like winning a championship for us going forward.
