Have Paddy Power paid out on the EPL yet?

It did look ominous

Very difficult to win the PL back to back.
That's just, like your opinion man.

2018 since Community/charity Shield and Premier League was won by the same team in a season.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Massive overhaul for Villa this summer.  It looks like Konsa is now going to Arsenal.  Watkins could well leave for Saudi and Martinez is one foot out the door and a new No1 already in. Add that to Rogers, Digne and Tielemans who have already exited.

If Emery manages to get this new squad to a top 5 finish it will be some job.

Plus Nico linked to Newcastle

Something seems very off at Manchester City

To be fair they've  had a policy for years of moving players on quickly once they're unsettled / unsuited / causing issues. They do thus much better than the rest of the "big 6".

You think? From the Telegraph

Three Prime Ministers, five Foreign Secretaries and 32 Premier League managers have come and gone since 115 charges of alleged financial impropriety were first levelled against Manchester City. So have eight solar eclipses, four conjunctions of Venus and Jupiter, plus, most fittingly of all given the song that City fans sing so defiantly about their team, two blue moons.
The wait for resolution, which now casts a pall over a fifth consecutive top-flight campaign, is so interminable that it has even exhausted Pep Guardiola's idealistic spirit. "I will not consider my future," he famously said, vowing to remain as City manager in the event of the club's relegation to League One. But indeparting before a verdicthe recognised, ultimately, that life was too short.

Furthermore £690m has been spent on strengthening their squad since those charges.

If all this happens and playing champions league do we'll make top half.

I don't necessarily mean as in "ohh the charges are coming"

The turnover of players they have had this season has been Chelsea like, seems with Pep leaving, as probably expected a bit of stability is gone, but it seems to me a lot worse than I expected given how well City are run.

Reijnders(thanks Gawa), Rodri, Stones, Ake, Akanji, Bernardo, Savinho, Nico, Marmoush, Trafford and obviously Pep all left/looking likely to leave - they look v thin

City won't do anything this season, Pep and Rodri going is too big a loss

Arsenal's to lose, Liverpool outsiders, the rest of the big hitters in a scramble for top 5

If anyone could do a Leicester I suppose its got to be Spurs

I'd say there's a better than 50:50 chance that Arsenal's players will down tools on Arteta this season if they continue to be forced to play anti-football, now they all have a big shiny medal in their pocket.

There is though also a chance that Arteta gets ahead of this, takes the leash off, and blows everyone away in what looks like a very mediocre season ahead. At least 3 out of City, Chelsea, Liverpool, United and Spurs will implode and sack their manager before Christmas.

How is it that PL clubs can spend billions creating such mediocrity?

I think a lot of fans  try and convince themselves  they're being mightily entertained , especially when  forking out monstrous amounts  of money  to go to matches.

Hope Arteta was watching Odegaard playing further up for Norway in the WC and going rightly, and that the Super Cup final last weekend was the beginning of taking the handbrake off, 4 back 6 up should be the general tactic, 2 centre backs, Rice and Bruno to keep the back door shut, every other man drive on

Look-Up!

Of that I'd say there's no chance. Not in the dour bastard's DNA. I would have defended him on here a bit but after the CL final I won't be making any more excuses for him, he's just negative period. Him and players coming out blaming other teams sitting deep is just bull. Not all teams sit deep. PSG don't sit deep. Arsenal are impossible to watch no matter who they play.

Less than zero chance Spurs doing a Leicester. Leicester were actually on a good six month run before the start of their famous season.
