Salthill thrashed Corofin in the 1990 county final with a team laden with county players, (not just Galway ones). They looked set to dominate the domestic scene for a good decade. Instead, they lost the following year's final to Corofin after a replay, who would instead go on to be king pins in Galway for many years after. Despite having many strong line-ups on paper, Salthill would lose 7 finals after 1990 and only add on a paltry 2 more. Real underacheivement.

2006 I think? That team contained such as Michael Donnellan, Alan Kerins, Gordon Morley, Maurice Sheridan, none of whom were 'natives'. Given the talent at their disposal, I was astounded they couldn't win it in 1990/91. They walked Galway that year.

2004? Not sure but I've never watched it back! Donnellan was one of the better players that day in a very poor match

An Ghaeltacht 0-12 Glenullin 0-6 was much worse considering it was played with the new rules.

The conditions and the jeopardy were 2 big factors, that an St Galls wearing jerseys that were 4 sizes too big

That was before Corofin won, the first Connacht team to win the title.

Club - Ballyboden and or Kilmacud. There is an argument that Ballyboden are Europe's biggest sports club fielding 172 teams and for decades Kilmacud had a whole county to themselves. There are numerous counties fielding less club sides than either. With that volume of players and that level of sponsorship they should be winning everything every year. A very quick back of a fag packet calculation. 3% of the entire playing population of the GAA do so at Ballyboden. 3%.

County - Cork. Massive underachievement for the county with the most payers in both codes.

Other sports - Irish rugby team. Total chokers with delusions of grandeur. A bizarre culture that refuses to call out consistant failure and bizarre ownership structures.
