Another vindication for the new rules. Hope coaches take note of the advantages of a high press

Congratulations Mayo. I would have been vehemently anti Mayo my whole life as a Ros man. I was shouting for them today. It's a great story in a sport we all love. I couldn't hope they had another crushing defeat. There's enough divisions and bitterness and bad vibes in the world. I've enough of that bad feeling at this stage of my life. Well done Mayo from a noisy neighbour. I won't be looking up social media stuff to try and get annoyed over silly stuff. I'll admire your sporting achievement and leave it at that.

A truly memorable game - as a neutral I can't remember ever being so invested in an All-Ireland Final.
Even sitting at home watching on TV it was impossible not to get caught up in the emotion of the occasion.

Absolutely delighted for the long suffering Mayo supporters - there will be many a celebratory toast not only at home but among the huge Mayo diaspora across the world.

Geezer was right when he said there is no real defending other than high press...and thats usually the forwards.

Defenders are completely exposed so you "simply" need to shoot and hope efficiency is good. Id argue Mayo didnt panic because Andy just beat into them "keep shooting and staying postive itll come".

Its refreshing tbh after the safety first shite that was plaguing football. Look at ROD ball into Flynn. "Crazy" stuff but almost got a goal.

Burns thanking Allianz in his speech....wtf  :o  :-X  :'(

Does this result today further enforce how good that Dublin team was.

Mayo threw absolutely everything at them on a few occasions but Dublin somehow dug it out every time without fail never losing a final.

Kerry had a chance to start a dynasty today but they buckled.

Ryan O'Donoghue the man of the match in the All-Ireland final.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Darragh Beirne should be in there in my opinion. Unlucky to miss out.

It's a pity Whitey isn't around.

Today is a great day for Irish sport.

Can people not just stop yapping for a day?

Fwiw Andy Moran was refusing to do pressers in front of Allianz hording a la Tyrone.

Did you miss his plea to the Mayo team bus not to drive thru Foxford on the way home and incur the wrath of a priest?

I'm lurking but not posting anymore

After 2021s loss I swore I'd never watch again but my sons persuaded me to bring them to watch the game today

Funny thing is, with about a minute left I couldn't watch it anymore and went outside the pub. I turned on Midwest Radio and discovered they'd won....the TV feed was about a minute behind the live action.

I was in Boston when their curse was broken in 2004....and it's a very similar feeling. Hasn't sunk in yet

In Mayo-Gaelic football is life . It means so much to so many people whose
Family are spread all over the Globe. I saw a video from the Irish Center in Liverpool and spotted my mother's 89 years old cousin and family watching the game.

I was only half joking about that by the way

Fantastic Mayo. One of the best and most memorable sporting moments I can recall. It is up there with  ireland beaing romania in penalties in italia 1990.

Ah sure let the game flow.....

Balances its self out. Paul murphy kept getting exposed and everytime he would grab an mayo arm and throw himself to the ground getting a free out each time
