Quote from: cavanmaniac on July 26, 2026, 05:44:49 PMI was invested in that Mayo win almost as much as I would have been had it been my own county. It was nervier than it needed to be but with all the psychological baggage, that was understandable. For once the gods were with them.

Agree 100%

They'll be breaking their neck to give it to Kobe

Rayn O'D has to be MOTM and in the running for POTY

Congratulations to all the Mayo lads on here.  Thoroughly deserved. Much the better team on the day. Enjoy the celebrations 🏆

Quote from: Schkite on July 26, 2026, 05:39:19 PMKobe got alot of the spotlight due to his story, the AFL move, and in fairness he was very good and over the championship he popped up with some huge moments - but Beirne is the YPOTY for me
Agreed.

R O'D player of the year. Do all 3 get All stars?

I'd be amazed if anyone got POTY ahead of O'Donoghue

All second half I was bricking it.

Well done. Their pain was known to all from 1989 onwards. Well done.

After the rain comes the sunshine..

Well done Mayo. Enjoy the celebrations over the next few months. Very well deserved.

Loved their bravery through the whole game. Kick and miss, then go again. Worked so hard and pressed up the pitch.

Great speech by Coyne too. Not big into speeches but on an occasion like that, I had no issues.

Nobody will begrudge them that speech after 75 years. Fair play to Burns too as he kept it short (for him) and sweet.

Knives out for Jacko youd imagine. Kerry fill the togs when they see swarms of white jerseys

Theyve been #Tallied

Long wait finally over doesn't matter now but a game/final  Mayo should have could have won more comfortably. Team thar defends best won All-Ireland final and Mayos ability to turn over the ball a key trait throughout this campaign, the work rate and wanting it more the big difference.

A perfect send off for Kobe McDonald after that today he might get homesick in Australia?

Thinking of forner posters on here who died in recent years, a shame they aren't around to have seen that green and red day.

O'Donoghue excellent again today,  probably the hardest working player in the game at the moment and covers serious milage around the pitch. I agree MOTM today and could well win POTY also.

Now that it's sunk in its not that bad.
Hopefully certain elements among  the Mayos will have a bit more class than normal on their way through Co Roscommon tomorrow.

Enoch Burke will be the only man in Mayo to turn up to work tomorrow.

Fair Play Mayo and enjoy the day to all the fans. That was such emotional stuff, fantastic to see the joy.

Hession unlucky not to nab a 2ptr but a beast all year for them.

Lot of teams will feel encouraged.

Almost anti climactic , mayo forced so many errors and mistakes. The old ravenous hunger matters and trying to go back to back[for the 40th] with the kerry expectation is brutal pressure.

Norm-Peterson

It doesn't feel like Mayo won it because of the white jerseys.

I've never been to Mayo but my great grandmother was from west Mayo, on the Atlantic coast south of Geesala. She met her husband when in USA and moved to south Derry.
