As long as the young lads avoid listening to advice of has beens they will be alright.

Dubs had plenty of goal chances, Mayo just need to nail them when they come.

Hope officials will be alert to Kerry dirt

Brilliant news.

Quote from: Look-Up! on July 15, 2026, 09:06:15 AMRefs need to make split decisions on sometimes unfavourable line of sight angles so wrong calls are understandable.

But after having the benefit of time and multiple replay angles, I really don't understand how anyone can say it was a definite penalty. If anyone got charged in the chest it was the Dublin player. And that's a stretch too. Whoever sees a foul in there may as well make it a no contact sport.

I really can't see how you can say it wasn't. The angle from low looking towards the hill which was similar to the angle that the ref has makes it look stone wall in the POCB turns his shoulder straight into the Kerry players chest. A clear foul that I would expect to see given all day long. I am genuinely surprised it's even a talking point.

Because I've looked at it from each angle. I don't know where you're getting hitting on the chest of the Kerry player from either, he is nowhere near his chest. Kerry player turns into the tackle leading with the shoulder. Dublin player has feet firmly planted into ground and attempts to meet square with shoulder. Kerry player comes into the tackle side on with feet a little off the ground just before impact and slightly off balance which leaves it that it's not a clean contact shoulder to shoulder. If anyone was hit in the chest it's the defender.

I acknowledged referee mightn't have the best angle at the time but I don't know how anyone can now claim a penalty with benefit of multiple angles.

We will have to agree to disagree then. The angle I'm referring to makes it clear to me that the last movement is by POCB and it's a movement of his left shoulder towards and through the chest of the attacker.

Of course I could be wrong it certainly wouldn't be the first time but there's nothing I've seen to suggest it wasn't a foul.

Dublin should be aggrieved by the Square Ball non decision but apart from that I think Cawley got it right.

It was far from the worst referring we have seen this year.

Said the penalty was totally correct, frontal charge, rough play, foul and yellow card.

Think Mayo give Kerry massive trouble this weekend.

If Mayo can forget their record in finals for the next week they have a massive chance on Sunday.

No baggage around this team.

I feel the same way and I'm normally very down on Mayo's chances in big games. Just think you have to take great confidence from how Tyrone and Dublin battled against Kerry, a damp squib would be bitterly disappointing. I think they have every chance of at least putting them to the pin of their collar, I hope I'm right

I am always wary that you want a final to be good, that there is an element of flase hope.

But Mayo have speed and can play off the cuff up front. I know it's unfair after his semi-final but I never fully trust Ryan O'Donoghue, and Mayo really need him to lead up top.

Dublin's shooting and some of their decision-making really let them down, showing Kerry are not unbeatable.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

I think Foley is a really good match for O'Donoghue and will greatly limit his influence, as a neutral would be hoping a for a great battle with both lads coming away with a pile of credit afterwards. I really don't know where Mayo are at, looked awful earlier in the year, looked unreal against Louth but what were they up against that day? Louth didn't play anywhere close to what they're capable of, how much of that was down to Mayo nullifying them I don't know. Didn't look wonderful against an average Cork side either.

Hope for a cracking game and obviously would love to see Mayo get over the line, but would never begrudge Clifford another All Ireland.

You'd be hoping the Tyrone form line would be a good gauge for Mayo. We just about beat Mayo and then really put it up to Kerry. Obviously it doesn't work like that in real life but that Kerry backline can definitely be got at.

Any way both could be disqualified?

Yeah would be hoping that rings true. Mayo have that big impact player Conroy off the bench (won't score the 10 or 12 points whatever it was McCurry got but will definitely cause Kerry problems with his running power)
