I notice there was a brawl at a Tyrone club game recently. Grass roots GAA men behaving like thugs. There was me thinking club people couldn't possibly be violent. Sure it is only band wagoners who are rowdy on the terraces isn't it?

It's a soccer problem that most clubs in England have stamped out. I was at Brentford (when they were still Championship at a game in Griffin Park. It was famous for having a ub on every corner and we duly pottered around.
Great craic with Brentford and Ipswich fans the exact same way as you would before any county match. Then last year I went to Wimbledon and again great day out, family fun, etc.
Then a few weeks back it was Shels v Pats and these wannabe Danny Dyers were marching down Drumcondra and next thing pint bottles and glasses were flying as they walked by the pub with Shels fans outside. Two Garda vans were trailing them.
The stupid thing was in the pub there were Pats and Shels fans chatting away having a drink. I really don't understand that craic at all. And it is a LOI thing with every club having scummers attached. It's a pity as overall the league is getting a lot of positivity.

Brentford and Ipswich is the equivalent of UCD v Athlone though. Go to West Ham v Chelsea...

I explicitly and unambiguously stated that the policing of soccer games in Derry is a problem and has been for years. Yesterday seems to have been particularly shambolic.

But they didn't have the dirty Dubs this time, they had serious Nazi hoolie types from the east who took their opportunity to run amock. And once they started it all kicked off and stayed kicked off.

Note the local youths were absolutely nowhere to be seen.

On a slightly interesting note, this was the first time the cops set foot in the Brandywell since 1970, after the game, to walk them back into the city.

And then - as 'I kid you not' moment number 2 - he stated that the groundballers had the issue 'sorted'

Every couple of weeks an incident seems to occur that makes a total nonsense of his contentions
